I've seen there have been quite a few posts about idling issues with the 620.
Mine pretty much always needs to have the throttle advance on, even when warm. Only when the bike is really feeling good will it idle without. This is very rare. When it is idling, it is waaay too rich. To the point of making my eyes water and making me noxious. It is truly an unpleasant experience.
The bike only has about 3500 miles. It has Arrow carbon slip-ons and I opened the airbox. After these mods I took it to the dealer to have them adjust the mixture. It seemed to run fine after having that done. But seemed to run fine before having that done also! Not sure if paying the dealer $100 to mess with it was really necessary, but that is another discussion.
The plugs right now look like the mixture is pretty good. No signs of running rich at all so my guess is that it is just at idle that it is rich.
What could be causing this?
Would following the procedure in this thread get me anywhere, or is this just going to affect idle speed?

i'm suprised the OE fuel trim is rich enough for the bike to run 'fine'... I needed a PCIII when I did all that.
Throttle position sensor, vacuum leak, misfire. You are smelling hydrocarbons. This can come from lean misfire, misfire, or running extremely rich. First I would start with base settings, a computer scan with a factory scan tool or VDST software and check for vacuum leaks.
