Well, I've finally got the bike to the point where it's running like a champ and everything is working the way it should so I'm going to sell it. I'm going to post a proper ad shortly but wanted to see if anyone local was interested first.
Let me know if you're interested.

Pourqoui?
Just doesn't really suit my style of riding is all. Plus I want to get a few more miles out of a tank. I'm getting 110 without the light coming on which is pretty good for a monster but still, I'm thinking more like 140/150. Unlike many people I've seen comment on the subject, I really don't like stopping after every hundred miles or so. :)
Any interest in parting out that tail light?
Sorry mate, not really. :-\
If you buy it, it comes with a bike attached. It will cost $12k though. ;)

I have 52 jumps now and my B license which means I can do night jumps (not that I want to mind you!). ;) Let me know if you're going up again at some point. I'm usually there at some point every weekend. Glad you enjoyed yourself. [thumbsup]

It's a great bike if it suits your style. Suspension is awesome and I have the race ecu - it goes to 11 and sounds amazing. I want something lighter and *less* powerful, probably Street Triple R. My wife hates sport bike (fairings) so I think I can accommodate her by sticking with naked bikes. Also, I did want to try a water cooled Duc.
DAME !!!!!!! your S4rs is what i've been looking for, it outrageously good looking
I just bought a car but wont be able to afford that S4rs it until April [bang] :'(
good luck with the sale :'(

Hey, look me up when you're ready, if it's not sold, it's all yours. ;) I'd love to sell it locally. I'm going to put it up on CL in the next couple of days.

I jump at the Ranch (http://www.theblueskyranch.com/), never jumped anywhere else actually. They say that if you can land at the Ranch you can land anywhere. ;)
If you're ever up for coming up to the Ranch once you have your A, let me know. I'll do the same if I'm out at SDLI. [thumbsup]
Good luck on the sale, hope your next scoot is like getting into a warm bath. [thumbsup]

It's pretty expensive but if you plan to jump more than just to get your license then in 30 *days* of renting ($90 whole day / $30 per jump & that's not even counting the cost per jump which is $23 at my DZ) you would have spent enough to buy a good second hand rig. If you're into the sport, save up to get a second hand rig. Ask around the DZ & see if anyone you know has one you can borrow. Either a rig or a main or whatever, just make sure it's safe. Buying everything new is great but you're talking $5k+ (that's what my wife did!) which is a lot but not necessary unless you're an odd shape. ;)
Ask your instructor about this stuff, you're not the first person to have this problem. ;)
As for the bike, I really hope I can find a buyer, having it checked out this weekend so I can get everything checked and fixed if necessary although i think I'm good at this point.
<subliminal_message>someone buy my bike, you know you want it</subliminal_message>
Funny Dan,
I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum, I was throwing around the idea of selling the 749 and geting something a bit more "uprite" and less painy on the neck than the 749. Good luck w /the sale.

The bike I'm getting is just as upright. ;)
Do you want to buy an S4Rs? ;)
Bike's in the shop right now being checked over with a fine tooth comb to make sure it's solid. ;)

wow, that's a pure adrenaline rush. what altitude where you in during the time of that shot ?
We're still "on the hill" (skydivers will know what that means but basically it's when you're still going forward after you get out of the plane & not straight down yet) so we're probably ~12k ft.
It's a total blast, I have a few more pics of that jump if anyone wants to see them.
I guess I'm jacking my own thread. [laugh]
post 'em up [popcorn]

Awesome pic Mr. Dan [thumbsup] [thumbsup] Are you going to be at the ranch this weekend?
Had a blast at Skyventure in Nashua last weekend. great knowledgeable instructors.
Boys and girls lets do this before it gets cold out.
Yeah, hope to be up there all weekend jumping out of a "perfectly good airplane" (note from skydivers: there's no such thing!).

All great guys, sorry I missed your trip up to the Ranch. Just one tandem so far? How much time did you do in the tunnel?
Very, very cool shots, D. [clap] [clap]
Great to see you enjoying your new passion.
I'm with Jim, you won't catch me doing that...um... EVER! :-X

yup 1st tandem. we did 30 mins tunnel time. not enough. Hope they will open one closer to home. So i can take advantage of the year membership. i'm thinking of selling my monster for a new rig. [evil]
Sweet pictures!

Basically same argument you get from bikers, scenarios are different though but I don't think there's any reason not to in either case but that's me. Not to long ago, someone was killed landing hard. No other bones broken & no other apparent (major) injuries except the head. Wasn't wearing a helmet. A lot of skydivers wear CF helmets that have very little padding and, as we all should know from motorcycle helmets, CF doesn't flex and as such will transfer more energy to the head in the event of an impact. If you don't account for this with the padding, you're doing yourself a disservice. I'm wearing one of the goofy helmets that a lot of people avoid because it makes them "look like a student". The fact is that they actually protect you from bumps & hits to the head. Clearly, hitting the ground at free fall speed is too much for any helmet but that's not why you wear them.

There's meant to be two (!) tunnels opening in NJ soon. They're meant to be in the same facility. Supposedly smaller than the Nashua tunnel (it's 12ft, NJ tunnels meant to be 10ft) and I'm sure they'll be packed with tourists (;)) but you will probably be able to book and get some good tunnel time closer to home that way. 30 mins is pretty good, should help you a lot if you decide to start skydiving. I don't think they're really the same thing, kind of like a track day is to riding on the street. You can apply what you've learned but it's not really the same experience.
As for the new passion, yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot. I'll also be enjoying my old passion again when I get my new bike. I still love to ride, just now I have something else to do rather than riding around by myself most of the time. :P :)
This was jump 30 with 2 world champion skydivers, I'm basically not there until half way though! [laugh] I now have 58 jumps and am on a 4 way team.

Seeing those pics makes me want to go actually, but you know i'm too scared. I'll need to read Brians book 1st.
That can be arranged. ;)

make the beast with two backs scuba man, even if your on LI, scuba season is much shorter and not too impressive after youve hit all the "spots"
This is more reason to go sky diving! I was gonna get cert this summer but lack of $, i have $ now. but lack of time.
www.skydivelongisland.com is where im going to do it.

Where do you train in muay thai? i have been really interested in that for a while, i could use something like that to put some focus into
At a gym call Fight House in the city, its in a triangle of 3 other big muay thai gyms.
one of them is The WAT, and the other is called <some damn name>.
With out Muay thai, i dont know what I'd do. Honestly. Id be tweedling my thumbs. (cause i dont have a bike STILL. :/)

Seriously. I wish i was picking mine up monday, but FBF told my shop they would ship it out saturday(today) yesterday. But as far as i know, only USPS ships Saturdays. and no business ships USPS. Only Fedex, but both places are closed on weekends, so i bet they are lying. my dealer says "we'll get it at the very latest wednesday" i bet thats a lie to, not on the shops behalf, but on FBF behalf. If they ship it monday ground in the AM it MIGHT get to them on wednesday, but at thsi point, i dont know why it wouldnt be next day. they've had it for long enough.
Either way, dude, im gonna go for the cert next year in april or june, i think march would still be too cold. do it! Mostly cause it would be more fun than doing it alone. :P theres was only 1 dude doing his cert when i was doing my first tandem. lol
Next yera april or june sounds good to me, let me know! ;D
i forgot theres a month called may, i ment april to june!
You forgot smarch and febtober too.
I got 4 jumps today. ;D
i hate you.
Smarch and febutobery are too cold.
S4RS is gone.
Here's what I have instead: ;D

:-[ i sat on a blue 675 today that bike is hot!!!!!!
Congrats ! [thumbsup] The 675 was my first choice before my brother convinced me to get the S4RS. I would consider the 675 if I was looking for another bike.
I originally went to buy a Daytona back in '07 but there was a traded gixxer 750 that was an awesome deal on the floor so I took that instead. I'm very happy with the 675 so far but need to put more miles on it on clean roads before I'll really have a good idea of what the bike is like & how it compares to the other bikes I've owned.
The 675 is hot in all black, man! Blackened swingarm and black radial calipers, too! Very nice.
Thanks ;D
Shame about the stupid bronze forks though... :-X

maybe get them powder coated black ??
I was thinking I'd just paint them actually, powder coating has some drawbacks that I'm not sure I want to deal with. The sad thing is that the Street Triple R has black fork tubes, not sure why the 675 ended up with "Poo Bronze". ;)
Didn't even notice the forks till pointed out.
Nice bike BTW [thumbsup]
