Title: Koup's Cycle Shop in Harrisburg, PA
Post by: cletus_cassidy on August 26, 2008, 02:43:40 PM
Has anyone had any experience with Koup's Cycle Shop in Harrisburg, PA?  They are the closest dealership to me and I'm looking to get my 7500 mile service performed on my 2007 S2R 1000, among other things.  I have no sense of whether they are knowledgeable or fair in their pricing and would appreciate any insights anyone might have.  Thanks in advance.

I have not personally been there, but my buddy bought his 1098 there and rants and raves about that place. He says he will not take his bike any place else. Says they are knowlegeable, nice, and courtious.

Take your bike there, I dont think you'll be dissapointed.

Lots of the east of Pittsburgh people go to Kissel's. Second hand, heard tons of good things about them.  I live within walking distance to Euromotors so I have never been elsewhere. Good luck.

Not sure where you are located in PA but Ducpond Motorsports in Winchester, VA is very good. Winchester is only two hours out of Altoona, PA(South Central Region) and I highly recommend them. I have heard good things about Kissell's as well, but the closest I have gotten to their shop was eating at Quaker Steak and Lube in State College where they had some bikes on display, [laugh].

How far are you from Paxinos?

that is Mikmar and is by far the best service and customizing available.

My experience with Mikmar

When I lived in NYC, I bought a bike from a guy in PA.  I forgot the town, but it was about 45 minutes from Paxinos.  Seller told me he had work done by Mikmar, so I called them up and asked about it.  Got voicemail and left a message.

Mick himself called me back that afternoon and gave me a full rundown of the bike.  Plus all the work he'd done on it in the past.  I felt pretty good.

Then, the next day, Mick calls me AGAIN and says "oh yea, I forgot I also did XY&Z too".

I thought that was great service.  When I needed the galley plugs replaced on the bike I bought, i trailered the bike to Mikmar.  I knew there were other things off with the bike, but I didn't mention them thinking I would get them fixed later or do it myself.  Mick calls me up with the list.  And then says he won't charge me for several of the items because they were maintenance items that he might have missed since he did the bike's service previously -- even though it was with a previous owner.

A+ service.  But schedule ahead, he is usually quite busy.

Unfortunately, I am on the other end of the state.
