Say what you like about Stoner, but he always comes out ready to play...
Looks like Pedrobot is tossing in the towel. Either that or he's definately not healthy yet. Disappointing. Maybe he'll pick up the pace tomorrow.
On the flip side, it looks like Jorge might actually have pieced himself together enough to ride decently. Poor guy (sorta, I think many are saying "Karma's a pregnant dog)...he's had a bunch of nasty get-offs. Ouch.

Yeah, the dude is always fast. He certainly sets the bar high for the others......
QuoteCasey Stoner fastest on Friday at Misano, but victory hopes thrown into doubt after 're-opening' a broken scaphoid bone.
Despite dominating both Friday practice sessions with a flawless opening day performance at Misano, Casey Stoner's San Marino Grand Prix hopes have been thrown into doubt by a freak wrist injury.
The reigning world champion finished the day a comfortable 0.418secs ahead of world championship leader Valentino Rossi - but somehow re-opened a broken scaphoid bone, damaged back in 2003, in the process.
"The scaphoid is a really strange one because there has been no impact on it," explained a surprised Stoner. "I was just adjusting my back protector before going out for one of my runs this afternoon and I felt some pain.
"It got worse as the session went on so we decided to check it out with the Clinica Mobile and I couldn't believe it when they showed me the x-ray - it seems the bone I broke in 2003 has re-opened."
The injury will make it extremely painful and awkward for Stoner to ride on Saturday, although the Australian will undergo physio and wear a special support in order to give it his best shot.
Someone sabotaged his bone! :P

So, what was it this time? Another bump?
Well, this championship is over and I gotta think Casey's starting to doubt that front end more and more which is baaaaad news for the team.
On a positive note, Lorenzo and Elias looked good and there was some great racing further down the order, especially Vermuelen and Toseland.
Wow.
Well, at least Stoner got his championship before Rossi got in his head and ended his career. Unlike Biaggi and Gibernau.
I kind of feel bad for Stoner.
Not really. [laugh]
GO #46!!!
Maybe Rossi upgraded the curse for Stoner. Instead of "you will never win another race" which worked on Gibernau, the Stoner version is "you will never finish another race". Seems to be working so far.
Its frustrating being an aussie and a duc fan. [roll]
Yeah, I mentioned it before, but I fear the old Casey is starting to emerge again. I think he's just pushing harder and harder trying to break Rossi, and eventually dumps the bike. He doesn't want to race head to head with him, but he's dumping the bike trying to ride away.

It definitely looked like he tried to stuff it on that turn and overloaded the front, right?? He might've lost the rear, but it looked like he tucked the front....
-Hey, Elias made it up there repping Ducati at least... :-\

There is this one guy named Troy...
For some perspective, my 3 year-old neighbor earned as many MotoGP points in the last two races as did World Champion Casey Stoner. And the 3 y/o crashed fewer bikes doing it.
That makes me :'(

I dunno, but he was f'n screamin'! ;)

If you can't finish, it doesn't matter. :P
Being the world's biggest Rossi Fanboy, I have to say that I am more disappointed in the lack of good racing than I am in anything else. I was giddy as a schoolgirl through the race at Laguna...

I'm with you man. Since Laguna it seems that Casey has tried to make it a point to show everyone that HE is the fastest guy out there and noone can touch him. It seems to work in qualifying and practice but hasn't been very fruitful during race distance. Aside from that it was extremely boring race and I ended up fastforwarding till the end.

There were some really good battles further back in the pack. Dovi, Vermuelen, Toseland and Capi had some really nice battles and Marco even diced it up a bit as he climbed through the field.

oh, i know.. i finished watching the whole race when i woke up. ;D
Being the cheapskate that I am, I am forced to watch the leader and the battle for 2nd and 3rd while they almost completely ignore the good fights further back. Wish they would back off the leader coverage when he gets out a few seconds ahead and focus moe on the good battles for position.
Check out the 250 race for some good "fights."
the 250 race was excellent. barbera was a beast. I am surprised pasini and simoncelli (and the rest of italy) didn't torch his trailor after the race.

+1 on all counts. When is that nutcase going to graduate to the big bikes? :o
I don't understand what's happened with Stoner. He can do dozens of laps at an utterly blinding pace in the practice sessions, then dump it in, what, eight laps in the race. WTF? :-\

Stoner explains Misano crash (http://www.motogp.com/en/videos/2008/Stoner+explains+Misano+crash)
what he says sounds a bit like an excuse, or an attempt to put the blame on others. but that's generally his speaking style.
also a funny tidbit at the end about tires and pedro.

That interview pretty much sums up why I don't like Stoner.
jeez...
"i'm the fastest rider, whether or not we finish those races..." [roll]
it's funny, with all that "advantage" he says he currently has over rossi, he's 75 points behind him in the championship.
and regarding pedrosa/bridgestone and "people always want what they can't have"... how about wanting some tires that work? hell, even colin sounded like he was almost ready to jump the michelin ship after laguna.
casey lives in his own little dream world. i woulda thought that this season would be a wake-up call for him.
nope.

I love at the end where he goes into his "respect" rant again. Seriously, nobody has questioned his ability at all (and he was answering a question that wasn't even asked) and yet he still feels slighted.
Casey Stoner can lick my taint.

Well, if he wraps himself in that sentiment it may keep him warm at night.......but that's about all.
He's such a wanker.
