Title: New thread for Will
Post by: eltristo on September 03, 2008, 04:22:21 PM
So I have a pair or two of forks in my house meant to replace the worn out buggers on my m750.  I called down to try to talk to you (Will), got someone else, and they had to talk to someone else still.  The question is this:  I do not know what condition the internals may be in.  I am slightly concerned about this and figure now is the time (since they are not mounted) to play with them.  Am I just way off base in thinking it's worth having someone tear them apart and check out the springs/spacers/valves/whatever?

if they look fine on the outside and the seals are in good shape, i would just change the fluid.
what are they off of?
and sorry you weren't able to reach me, i've been stupid busy at work, a\so that's why i come on this to check in and "lurk".

One set is from a 2001 (i think) 748, the other from a 2003 (i think again) st-2.  I have all of the necessary parts to fit the 53mm forks.  One of the ST-2 forks has a ding about 1/2" from the top.  Any chance of that being from something other than a crash?

Oh, no need to apologize for being busy.  I was just posting here cause I hadn't heard back from the dude I spoke to.

hey, boss! funny thing.

that leak in my vert cyl?  hasn't... it somehow decided that it was gonna heal itself.

was gonna do the whole call thing, but I've been so goddamn busy lately...  :-\

I should prolly just pick it up, eh? or do your parts guys have a cool return policy?

Seemingly nice.  I'm just not sure I trust my own judgment.  :P

that's kinda funny, in a shitty way.  i was about to let you know that they are picking up the cyl from powder coat today after a few... delays, i don't think i need to elaborate. [roll]
then i was just going to finish a s2r head job, then give you a call, let me know what you want to do.
