So.....Most mornings I pull the bike out of the garage to warm her up and the neutral light doesn't light up. I know the bike is in neutral because its rolling. The bike won't fire up until I pull the clutch lever in. The bike drives fine and after a couple of lights the neutral light starts to work. After work I walk out to the bike to start it up and it chugs a couple times and dies. Seems like it takes me about 3 pushes of the starter button to get it going and I'm dealing with the neutral light thing again. What the hell is going on? This is a braand new bike with 1200 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah...I have an '08 Tricolor
There is a sensor plug behind the engine on the right hand side (brake lever side) of the bike. That connector is probably loose. Take it out, clean it, and using some light pressure make the connector tighter so it stays in place. That should fix the Neutral light problem. I had the same issue a few months ago and took it to the dealership thinking it was my cluster. They fixed it by doing what I just described, I haven't had the problem since.
You don't happen to have a pic of the sensor plug do you?
