Title: skkkssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Post by: Statler on September 05, 2008, 10:07:38 AM
For those that have not done so,   taking a loooong sweeping turn on a track with your knee on the deck gauging lean, rolling on the throttle, top leg locked in, head down next to the tank, arms all relaxed...

it's one of the best experiences on a motorcycle.

being able to then do it consistently is almost as much fun.

(and you'll forget all about that first time your knee hit and it scared the shit out of you and you stood the bike up)

Do it....   even if you prefer relaxed cruising or commuting normally.

Yes, that is a great feeling for a while. Until you have to start buying replacement pucs :o Then it becomes...knee touching down, ok I know where I am, now pick it back up. I just bought these expensive buggers! [laugh]

True story...but until then, congrats and enjoy! [thumbsup]

+1.  Do it.   [evil]

The only thing that makes it better is when it it preceeded by setting up, entering the turn at full blast (which early would have made you crap yourself, convinced that you were about to do), nailing your turn-in and mid-turn markers perfectly, letting the lean scrub off some of your speed as your tires tell you you're approaching the edge of traction, trail braking until just the right momement and then pickin' up where Statler started.  When that sequence is comfy and not scary and when you get it right . . .  woohooo!!! I got a woody just thinkin' about it.   ;D

I only seem to be able to drag Hard parts on the monster at this time. Not much in the way of chicken strips on the track bike but still no Knee down. maybe next time.  :'(

Doing that w/Leather pucks is even smoother.  Afterwards the pucks smell like  [bacon]

no pics...was on their zx6 and didn't buy any.   sould have video over my shoulder in a few weeks when the dvd gets mailed,  but it won't show the knee.  (it will show me run wide coming up the hill though so you guys can give me shit for my line).

I hope it wasn't the same photographer they (CSS) had with them when we were at NJMP a few weeks ago.   :-\

He didn't get many good shots.  B and I didn't see any picts worth purchasing and they were mad expensive.  $80 for just a digital copy of the shot.  $100+ if you wanted any sort of printed photos.  He didn't get any shots of me on the 2nd day of the camp.

I think he was confused because I kept changing my leathers due to a zipper issue.

I know the feeling.   ;D   Of course.... we have too many right turns and not enough left.... so I have some lopsided knee pucks.

... and yes... I did jerk my knee back up the first time it happened... almost completely upsetting the bike mid corner... once you get over the shock... its golden.
