Title: How fast is fast enough?
Post by: smokin pipes on September 05, 2008, 06:12:38 PM
Lets start off with a word on safety . You should only say I DID NOT  OK.
When on the Ouray trip I DID NOT have an open stretch of road with no crossroads and no traffic so I DID NOT go for a little speed run . Well let me say I DID NOT hit 151 mph and I DID not get her out of 4th gear ( third shift light was not flashing) .So i wonder what she would top out at? That is the fastest I HAVEN'T GONE  and no it is not fast enough how about u ?

The fastest I haven't gone on my lil 695 wasn't arount 125-130mph. I think it would probably get a little front end light at that speed. I do know I had to wave you fella's on the bigger bikes around a couple times on the way to Ouray..... of course I ride like a granny... ;)

I've never seen about that same speed as smoking on my 999.  And most definitely not on I-10 between Tucson & Phoenix.

I never would flog a machine just to see how fast it could run, and I do not agree with H.S.Thompson's writing,  On my tombstone they will carve "IT NEVER GOT FAST ENOUGH FOR ME "

Roughly 60 mph. On my road bike. Once. Downhill.
Oh wait, we're talking about motorcycles.

Never more than 10 mph over the speed limit.  ;)

I've never gone over 115 indicated (come on, it was only a 620) side-by-side with a WRX STI on I-25 and then hid in a Ford dealership parking lot when we got spotted and chased by a statie. I'm a role-model for little kids, for pete's sake. Can't set a bad example...  [cheeky]

That's impressive. I've only broken 50 on my old mountain bike (with slicks, full tuck, holding the fork legs, very steep road). That was scary enough.

Beltronic Vector 995 sitting on a Techmount stand. Also use the H.A.R.D. System for wireless led helmet display.

I did not pass you this summer going up Horsepower Hill...  I did not get smoked by those rice burners!!!  I simply yielded the road so as not to impede the flow of commerce...
