I get an occasional email from Triumph. I normally just delete them, but this one caught my eye. This is the the Thruxton I want. Triumph should produce something like this in place of their Thruxton. With the Ohlins front & rear suspension it reminds me a lot of Kenny Dreers Norton 961 SS.

We should have a :drool smiley. That is beautiful.
Yeah that thing is great. Love the style, been considering one or a SportClassic just as soon as I get tired of my Monster, sometime around the year 2225.
;D
very nice, looks like its runner [thumbsup]
Looks like a runner, but still has the same wet-noodle frame as every other Bonnie. The Sport Classic is a far more satisfying ride, though less "true to it's roots".
Very Kool indeed!! 8)

+ 11ty zillion
The suspension is only part of the problem. The POS frame and swingarm are the big issues... You can feel the disconnect between front and rear by just riding around town. I hated those bikes.
And the clipon reach is hideous. At least for me. Might be a tad better with some wind rushing at you but not for long...
My local Ducati/Triumph built a Thruxton up with lots of upgrades. It was nice, but I'd like to see one with serious handling ability. Follow the "power cruiser" mentality, do like Yamaha & borrow some supersport forks & brakes & stiffen up the frame a bit ~

It is a great looking bike...But I took a demo out from my local dealer, and was not impressed. For a 900, it had like 3/4 of the Get up and go my 696 has. Also, I think the biggest dislike was the bars, you'd be just as well off to grab the forks and try to steer, they are way too narrow, not enough leverage.
IIRC the motor they use is the same for several of those parallel twin bikes, just tuned/cammed etc. differently. I know the Scrambler only makes about 50 or so HP, but has a nice, smooth power curve and decent torque. It does seem low for a reasonably heavy bike. I've never ridden one though.

Yeah! Like my Mean Streak with triple discs, inverted forks etc.

that is the most beautiful Triumph I have ever seen!
for what it is... I like it [thumbsup]
looks better than that half-arsed attempt at a street tracker that Harley is selling in Europe. XR1200 or whatever. Now, the real XR750 is one of my favorite bikes of all time.
