Title: M750 Clutch pull

I am sure that this has been covered before so please forgive me.  I just got an 97 M750 as my first bike.  I love the bike but the clutch pull is way to hard for me.  My husband suggested that I post here and see if there is a way to lighten it.  I have ridden the 695 and new 696 and they have extremely light clutch pulls.  Is there any way to get the 750s clutch that light?

The aftermarket clutch slave cylinders are supposed to reduce pull.  I've got a '99 but don't really notice the clutch pull.  Some people have removed a couple clutch springs, but I'll let someone with more mechanical knowledge comment on that.

Pretty sure the 97 has the slave built in to the right side cover.

No aftermarket available.

In which case aftermarket levers, such as the ones CRG and Pazzo makes, would let you bring the clutch lever in closer to the handlebars. This seems to have helped others in the past.

Yep.  Confused the shit out of me when I switched to the 900 engine.  I needed a clutch slave for the 900 and was just going to cannibalize the 750 slave.   :-\

And pulling clutch springs on a wet clutch bike isn't a good idea.  For various reasons.


So, the short answer is unfortunately no, you can't reduce the clutch pull.  And from what I remember with my 750, the pull is heavy, especially for a woman.

The aftermarket levers as Someguy suggested is your only option.  And they do help simply because they do allow you to get the lever closer to the bar.

Also, a radial master cylinder might make the pull easier.  I'm not sure about that though, but it definitely couldn't hurt.
