Post by: duc996 on September 07, 2008, 02:22:50 AM
HI,maybe someone could help me on what to do,i rode over the weekend and we got rained out.I got home and tried to wash off all the dirt and mud.Next thing you know my bike wont start, the batt seems to be good.I have 30k kms on it now.My question is,is it bad to push start the bike, just so i can get it running? Thanks in advance.

If the battery is totally dead, then bump starting won't get you any where.  The injecters and pump need power to prime the system.  But trying to bump start it won't hurt anything.  Put it in second or third gear though.

I would just try jump starting it off a car battery to see if it is the battery.  9/10 or more, when a Duc won't start, it is the battery.  I assume it just won't turn over?  Does it click and can you hear the fuel pump priming?

Push starting is fine.

You probably loaded a connector with water.

Good luck.
