Title: a question for those who wrench their own.....
Post by: oaf on September 07, 2008, 07:02:06 AM
what lubricants and plugs do you use and where is a good place to get them? I live in The Colony and would like to find sources nearby if possible.

Auto parts stores have NGK plugs for your bike for less than $2.
Cycle Gear for good (Repsol/Motul) oil...
I used Ducati filters, but I buy four or six at a time for convienence.

Hey Oaf, I am just up the road from you in Little Elm, glad to see more folks on my side of globe  ;D

Moto Liberty carries Silkolene and plugs and filters (K&N) but would most likely have to order the plugs for you, not sure how much they are.

I have to say different bikes like different oil.

My Carby '97 900SS LOVES Mobil1 20-50 and Syntec too... the thing shfts sooooo smooth.  Clutch or not.
The 1098 HATES it.  It MUST have Motul.  Don't know why... but it'll miss shifts, gets klunky, etc.

You, in the end, will have to do what your mistress wants....   [laugh]
