For those that were interested we made it all the way to Seattle yesterday!
Two cars, two dogs, 32.5 hours of driving and three days. Whew. Who else needs a beer? [drink]
Cars did fine. Weather was beautiful the entire drive. The dogs behaved. It was really uneventful, which is what you want in a cross-country trip like that.
As for the bike, Haulbikes.com f**cked me. Some a$$hole told me they'd pick up the bike last Tuesday at the latest. So, when I didn't hear from them. I called to discover the damn driver had gotten stuck in Florida with the hurricane, but even before that there was no way he'd have made it by then. So, after 3 days of yelling at them I have the bike over at Christine and Kat's house (59ers) and a pickup date estimate of this Thursday thru Saturday. Thank the bike gods for good people like them. They're babysitting the skunk in their garage and will arrange to be home for the driver to pick her up. Still, that means like at least a month without the bike. ARGH!! :'( [bang]
Glad you guys made it! [thumbsup] Eat some fresh seafood for us!
A month!?!?! :o that BITES!! you definitely need a few [drink] to wash that down.
Remember time fly's - sure you'll be busy getting settled and the bike will be there before you know it [moto]
Well, with the exception of the bike, everything sounds like it was cool. I envy your new location and all the good riding roads! Good luck in your new digs [thumbsup]
Happy trails,
Cher
Glad you guys made it safely! Keep us updated on how you are doing!! [thumbsup]
1 month huh? Isnt that like the whole riding season up there? [cheeky]

Good luck up there. Hope you get to do some moose hunting, they make a tasty burger.

House is still up for sale. No offers yet, but seem to have a few interested parties. We'll see how it goes.

Problem solved...buy a 2nd bike. [moto]
Seattle is a great place to live. I lived in Kent and renton for 3 years. Just have to find something to do in the rain. I ttok up white water rafting. You get wet anyway so who cares if it is raining, plus some of the best spots are just northeast of you.
