I guess the rumors are more than true... much to Patrick's chagrine.

Rossi thinks better than most people know! Hey, what are you doing spying on our board? Not much happening in Waterloo?? [laugh] Damn beautiful country in Wisconsin!! Wish you could bring some of that down here bro'!! I love Texas, born here, will die here, but damn that cheese country is really really pretty this time of year. [thumbsup] Spent some time around Milwaukee and surounding area a long time ago and still remember the beauty! Nice. [moto]

Not much on a Tuesday night, just waiting for Indy. Glad you liked Wisconsin. I love the Fall, riding though the back roads with the trees changing color along side [thumbsup] Hope to make it to Texas one of these years. Sorry for the thread jack. I saw Rossi and was drawn in ;D

Sounds like he may be a bit nervous [laugh]... the only 2 guys to keep him from the Championship since 2001 on the same team! [thumbsup].

I really hope this goes through.

Yeah I bet the fall is awesome up there! We have fall here in Texas too. It usually comes on a Tuesday and lasts about an hour! :P What I wouldn't give for some real honest to God fall weather with colorful trees and the whole sha-bang. I know the winter weather can suck up there with feet of snow and spending months staring at your garaged bike but I'm sure you make up for it come springtime and summer. [thumbsup] [moto] I guess we put up with the boring roads and hot weather in Texas because we know we can go on all day rides in December and January. It's a trade off. Hope you get some good rides in before winter hits. Enjoy the race on Sunday!!

Winter is Mod time for our bikes up here, no need to worry about having the bike ripped apart and looking outside and wishing you could take her out today.
I would kill to be able to ride in January. My bike never comes out before March 1st :-\
Hayden riding for Ducati would be bad for Ducati, and bad for Hayden. Can't say this often enough. All we can do is hope that it's not true. I can only imagine that there is some kind of appeal of having 2 riders in the top 10 ( ducati might be thinking top 5, but they and Nicky are kidding themselvers ). This must be overriding their sensibilities.
Why I am against this ( again ):
1) Nicky will still be in the #2 slot, and he has not come to grips with that
2) Nicky is not a good bike developer, which is the only reason I can think of that they would not be looking down the line to find a rider to start developing
3) Nicky is past the point of being able to benefit from being "developed". He is a good racer, he is not going to suddenly get more consistent and faster. If he gets faster ( he won't ) it won't be consistent.
So, Ducati, in my twisted pregnant dogy little brain, needs the next Casey Stoner. Nicky is not it. If they really feel they need developement help, then again, Nicky is not that guy.
Move on Nicky, go peddle your wares elsewhere. You are a great racer, but the comers in the crowd ( Stoner, Pedrosa ) and the experience in the crows ( Rossi ) are never going to let you place CONSISTENTLY in the top 5. not gonna happen.
What about Elias? What about Canepa? There are many good choices out, so Ducati, please, here me out, and pass on the pimp-daddy. neither of you will be happy for that match...
I've told you before, you're going to make Earl really mad if you keep picking on Nicky. [laugh]
troll!!
Honda can't even dress him, Ducati will provide Nicky with a hat that fits him [thumbsup]
Hand me down bike, hand me down clothing :-\
This is for Patrick! [laugh]

remember you heard it here first.
Am I the ONLY one that thinks that this is a bad idea? I know that Cher and Fastwin think he's cute, but seriously.... there's a lot of emerging talent out there... and Ducati picks..... Hayden?

not that there's anything wrong with that

Hayden moves to Ducati ;D
Yes, a class act all around. Especially the way Ducati and Melandri handled their situation. He could have pregnant doged about about bad bike or team and they could have done the same about his lack of results on a good bike but both stayed quiet and respectful. The fact that they let him go early and he didn't demand a dime of his '09 contract money is unheard of.
Even though some think Hayden's a whiner I respectfully disagree. He certainly had things to pregnant dog about at Honda but I never read or heard a peep. We'll just have to wait until '09 to see how they fit together. Also glad Melandri has found a home at Kawi. He's a good rider and they want to win. As much as I like Hopper I think Melandri is a better rider. I wish him the best. [thumbsup]
So the Ducati Riders next year looks like (so far):
Factory Ducati/Marlboro
Stoner/Hayden
Alice Ducati
?/?
Onde 2000 (maybe) Ducati
Gibernau/?
i think we should all just calm down and see what happens. if he goes out and wins a championship then great for ducati. if he forces stoner to ride better and smarter and he wins a few championships then great move for ducati. if he doesn't it won't be the first bad move by a manufacturer and it won't be the last.
and who knows some of that 250 talent might end up on the bayliss ride

I agree totally! Everyone is focusing on the Hayden for Melandri MotoGP swap and tend to overlook Bayliss' run for the WSBK Championship and there being an empty seat on the Ducati WSBK team next year. Maybe Patrick's favorite Euro Superstock Champ series Ducati rider could be there but never count out the flock of 250GP talent. There some damn good riders in that field and they are some of my favorite races to watch. [thumbsup]
Rumors are Haga is taking Bayliss' seat
http://www.crash.net/motorsport/wsbk/news/168634-0/haga_close_to_09_ducati_xerox_deal.html
I absolutely love Haga. He is one of my top 2 favorite riders in WSBK, Bayliss being the other. I have gotten to see some of the greatest fairing bashing races of all time between those two. It's like they know each other so well and trust each other so much they can run inches apart turn after turn. It's awesome to see, I will surely miss it. And they both run at 110% all the time. They know no other speed. Lots of great racers out there but they are two of the very best ever, regardless of displacement class. Ducati could do a whole lot worse that's for sure. Although it would be funny to see Bayliss' most fearsome opponent riding in his old spot at Ducati. I bet somehow Bayliss would be happy and proud. [thumbsup]
so you get a japanese rider, an aussie and an american! brilliant by the marketing department!!! [thumbsup]time to sell some apparrel!!
