Wonder where Ducati got the idea/design for the exhaust on the 696. These look pretty similar ~

Just a thought, discuss ~

OMG! that Canyon has a DSS too! COPYCATS! [thumbsup]
edit: spelling
I honestly think that Ducati purposely put the ugly exhaust so that owners will replace it with Termis. [bang]
The two don't look all that similar. IMO, the exhausts on the 696, as prominent as they are, are distinctive. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Ducati would never copy someone else, would they? :P
Granted I am a bit biased, as I have the stock cans and can
not afford to replace them even if I wanted to, but that said
I like the stock cans and think they sound great. They are
not Termi's, or even QD for that matter, but I dig em' as
they are.
I think the OP is referring to the exhaust routing, which is almost the exact same.
Personally I like the new routing...and it was actually functional (ground clearance) on the Cagiva.
I also wouldn't say Ducati copied Cagiva, since they were the same company at the time the Grand Canyon was made (at least for some of the years...Ducati was acquired by TPG in 1996). They just brought back an old design. ;D

I was going to mention that the Cagiva runs on a Ducati engine....
looks similar but not really...
at least they didnt give a new monster those ugly low mount pipes like older models...omg those just look stupid, and to top it off there are 2 of them.
that being sail, i took a set of CF cans off and put stock ones back on..
