Title: Cleaning Jerry Cans - non moto related
Post by: Airborne on September 14, 2008, 04:12:59 PM
I have some older red plastic jerry cans sitting around in a lab I work in. I have to dispose of the fuel which has been sitting in them for at least 5 years. After this is done is there anyway I can clean them before trying to put new gas in them. I have new "clean" cans I am using but figured I could use these too rather than throw them out if at all possible.

This is the How-To section, which is for completed threads about how to perform maintenance and modifications, preferably with pictures or videos.  Threads with questions for technical advice or modification questions belong in Tech or Acc & Mods, respectively.   You can move the thread yourself.  If you look at the bottom of the thread, there is a button that allows you to move it to the appropriate forum.

Sorry, but I don't have an answer for your question.

Get some POR 'Marine Clean'...

It's the stuff they use to clean the petros out of a tank before you acid etch it.

Mix a quart 50/50 with warm water and rinse it well with water after.

One quart should do a couple.
