What is wrong with these people?
I ride over the Coronado bridge, take the exit for the 94, pull up to a stop sign and I hear tires skidding behind me. I look in my mirror and see a Volvo skidding past me on the left shoulder. As I am about to let out the clutch and get out of the way, the driver cuts the wheel and spins the car sideways in the intersection in front of me, nearly T-boning the car that was entering the intersection from the left. I pull around this retard and make my left and head for the motorcycle shop. He spins the car around in the intersection and follows me to the shop. He writes down my license plate number and asks if I thought that was a safe move back there. I said "what move, you nearly killing me, running a stop sign, and almost hitting another car?". He says "no, passing me on the bridge like that.". I say "why don't you just call the cops. I'd love to tell them about your driving and charge you with vehicular assault.". Then he tells me he rides a motorcycle too. What a jackass.
i own...2 volvos. but i dont drive like a tard.
description of the car/person/ town?

There are some Volvo drivers that are competent but unfortunately they are about 1% of the registered owners.
Just look at the target audience for their commercials. The guy who wants to exit the freeway from the middle lane and almost kills a motorcyclist but early warning system tells him about the evil motorcyclist in his blind spot. Or the woman who is driving with her head up her ass and almost plows into the vehicle in front of her because she is picking shit up off the floor of her car. I just want to beat these people with a stick.
Anyway it was silver Volvo in Coronado, CA driven by a guy with no penis, no driving skill, and no basic reasoning skills.

I'm out of here in a couple of days. There isn't a home in Coronado under $1 million and yet I have experienced more crime and bullshit here than I did in Brooklyn.
I know 2 volvo owners and they drive very safe. [roll]
That lady was crazy though pulling a stunt like that. It was a lady right? hahaha just read it again.. oops, that guy is crazy
.
just a question. what did he mean about passing him on the bridge? since he's a rider, i guess he acting like an A&& to be able to call you a squid to your face? sounds like someone needs to look in the mirror (mr. volvo i mean of course).

wanna know why?? :-\
yea..why?
Why ???
In general (key stereotype) Volvo drivers are the worst. I think the people who buy Volvos do so because they know they can't drive and Volvos are supposedly the safest cars out there. No scientific data to back this up...just personal observations.
I feel your pain Silentbob. ;D
I tend to agree. I just finished this book about traffic in general (hey, it was called Traffic) and the author does make a strong point that the safer cars and roads get, the more we tend drive like idiots. Volvo does reinforce this theory with their marketing. Maybe if we mounted a big knife on the wheel pointing at the driver, folks would drive much more carefully. In a sense that is what we are doing on two wheels. Instead of a knife, we've got a belt sander just under our feet. [moto]
BTW, I just got back from two weeks in S/D. Wow, is that a beautiful area. There was even a guy with a 695 in the condo we stayed at.

I saw the Volvo again today. He lives in my neighborhood. His front end was smashed in and his lights were hanging on by the wires.
Wait so you had an encounter with him but didn't notice he was from your neighborhood? o.O

I think he just moved in last week. He has NY plates.
My wife is a bad driver. Thats why I bought her a Volvo. She needs all the help she can get. [laugh]
Let's recap.
Volvo driver pisses off SB.
Shortly thereafter, said Volvo is found mangled.
Coincidence? I think not.

Proof of my theory!! ;D ;D
It may be that bad drivers buy safe cars to protect themselves and to heck with others.

i was an English tutor, and I'm just busting yer balls :P
Traction control, stability control, navi systems, self parking cars, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning/control...
4 wheeled vehicles are heading towards making a commute a lot like riding public transportation - except most people will be alone in their vehicle. People have no incentive to become better, more attentive drivers because technology is taking over for them.
I can't remember the last time I had an issue with a Volvo driver. It's the SUV drivers, giant pickup truck drivers and minivan drivers who are usually on my sh*t list.

+1
I even went as far as ordering the S60 in AWD to give my wife more of a fighting chance. Seemed like a good idea until I saw the estimates on how much it cost to repair the All Wheel Drive system after she rear ended the Navigator on I-85. The reason Volvo's are safer in a wreck is because EVERYTHING on the car breaks so you don't have to.
if he followed you.. I was probably ready to knock you out. He had an adrenaline rush and was pissed from crashing his volvo.. and blamed you for it. That is total disrespect. What did he expect ? that you apologize? People are crazy.. I'm glad he didn't pull a gun on your face.. sorry that he is your neighbor.. but at least now you now there is a crazy person to avoid!
