I was out at Rockwall Honda yesterday and they have Qualifiers for $112 rear and $87 front (normal price). Pilots were +$25 ea or so. Anything better / closer?
That's a good local price on 180 and 120 Qualifiers.

what kind of qualifiers?
DOT 180/120's Dunlop Qualifier 209's. The guy down the street charges $25 off the bike and $35 on to mount and balance. I would guess that's pretty standard but given that European wanted $250 or so just for the 180 tire, it may vary depending.
anyone have any experience with Dunlop D220? cyclegear is having a closeout and i'm wanting to grab a new rear tire... the price seems great ($100) and i could go for a tire with some wet-weather abilities, since i won't have a cage to ride when it rains (i guess i could just not ride when it rains...ever). i didn't want to pull the trigger though, if they're not worth a crap. i wish there was a sort of motorcycle tire review site kind of like tirerack.com has...there's tons of user and professional reviews for their tires on that site.
it's a good sport/touring tire... actually i did a couple trackdays when was fitted on my zrx so it's pretty sticky also.. ;D

cyclegear was all out of the dunlop D220's...i thought about doing a set of pirelli diablo streets for like $169 (you know: "pregnant doges can hang with the streets"....) but my front tire is in good shape, so i'll be testing out a brand new pirelli diablo "rosso" (hard not to say "rossi" everytime i see that name...). i think this will be the first pirelli i've had.
Rich the 220's are what I have on the front of the 900. After next week I will have the 208's on the front and the 207's on the rear.

i would have picked up the 220s without hesitation, but they are all gone, and they're out of production now. so, i shelled out the bigger $ for something newer and "better"... we'll see if it can keep me upright in a corner!!
i'd like to replace the front though, in all honesty, at some point this year, just because i know the guy before me didn't put many miles on the last couple years...so the front could be ~ two years old...though it has probably 70-80% tread left.

more being...more than, zero. who would have thought that living and driving around downtown dallas and surrounding neighborhoods doesn't hone cornering skills? maybe now with an SS, i can start to work on uncovering my true abilities... i just don't know what to do without stoplights, though.

i once thought about installing a metal pipe or "tire kicker" on one side of the monster for dealing with those awesome vehicles in dallas traffic. don't let me see you not using your blinker while in the cage on the street, seriously! it's still a possible mod for the SS [thumbsup]

For what it's worth, I had D220's on my SV and I liked Michelin Pilot Roads a LOT more. I just seemed that the D220's were easy to lock up during breaking, and that didn't happen with the Roads. I also lowsided with the D220's, which may have tainted my view of them (but in the SV650 circles, the D220's are seen as "those crappy OEM tires" , so I might not be too far off). Not to discredit anything that Giannis has said, but maybe lesser riders like me need more of a safety margin on our tires
I've read very good reviews for the new Dunlops (RoadSmart? Something like that?)... Supposed to be a dual compoud rear tire [thumbsup]

the 220's are great street tires due to the tread pattern, but for the track there is way to much cut away to make that pattern. Not enough rubber on the road. great for that rainy day.
Does anyone have experience with the Diablo Supersports? CycleGear is having a sale when you buy front and rear. $170 for a set.
I need new tires before the HC run so I'm thinking about these.

they can still be had from cyclegear.com for $100 + $8 shipping. sounds reasonable. and they also have that package deal for the pirelli diablo streets supersport tire for like $169 for front and back together. i was actually thinking about picking up a set to have around the apartment for whenever i needed to switch out the tires again (i picked up a pirelli rosso the other day), but wondered what's the longest you want to have a tire laying around before you mount it? they coat it with crap that prevents dry rot for a long time, right?
I would think that as long as you keep it out of the sun and out of the weather it should be fine for a pretty long while (within reason)

Will,
they won't be shipping until around the 21st i think....and i talked to the plano shop and they said don't count on them to arrive too speedy... but if you want you can go to the plano shop and pay them the $170 now, and they will hold you a pair (i was told the would have them *probably* by the 21st). i'm still debating on grabbing a pair, but why is plano so freaking far away?

I've had ~ 2K mile experience with the Diablo's and feel pretty confident in their ability to grip the pavement...even when not paying attention to a stoplight under I35 & Oak Lawn and the tires screeching. Oops. Wear seems to be pretty good. Just purchased a 2nd set.
