bazz i dont want to start another tiresome thread on tires but i mainly commute m5 90% of times.
it will be my last time on the track with that bike.sorry folks i know you are all upset but i need to nurse this bike
so that i have some left in it to ride with you guys, hence the tyre choice.

fair enough , what was the old tyre still looked pretty good
It's alright Pigmy the tire debate will rage until we stop using them and start flying.
Good choice, see you next week.
I would have thought that tire was fine for a track day. All the tread on the edges was still there! [moto]

i can see why you went the pilot road 2 ,i didnt know they were dual compound [thumbsup]
Seemed like the logical place to post this.
Had the new rubber bits fitted this morning (both Betty & Jukie). Thanks to those who offered feedback on their tyres. It all feels a bit defferent ... seems like the glass I had between the tyre and the road has been removed. Makes things a little bit harder for Jukie to get away from me [evil]
... and thanks to Flywheels for then little DMF discount ... so thanks also to the DMF [thumbsup]

Pilot Powers (I think the Boss mentioned it elsewhere a couple of days ago). They seem to be quite popular around these parts.

Dam good tires Betty,Used them for many years with out a hitch .The fact i changed was not due to any disatisfaction. [thumbsup]
mine have done 8k and i think ill just get the pilot power not 2ct ,some say the 2ct are better but the havent been out long enough yet so im trying to get feed back on a few tyres and dont have a big selection here dosent help
Many know I changed a little while back and I love the PP's
Amazing new found confidence when they were fitted.
sorry, bit daft, can someone explain the heirachy of Michelin's from race to touring?
Power Race
Pilot Power 2ct
Pilot Power
Pilot Sport
Pilot Road 2ct
Pilot Road
am I close, and can people tell the difference between the Power and Power2....I think I just ordered a Power for the front. I don't lean very much....still learning!
I can't really confirm your heirearchy other than it seems mostly right (not sure where the sport comes in)
I have a Power front / Road rear and that combination is way more capable than me. Changing to a 120/70 on the front was the real difference for me.
The "Tourer" rear does mean I need to exercise a little more caution until its warm, but I get way more like from it as compared to the softer Power.
I really guess it depends what drives you - if you do a lot of commuting, then go a more touring centric tyre like the Road - doing track days, lots of people would be more than happy settling on a set of powers from and rear. No FHE on the dual compounds - they sound good, but is there any catches / caveats (other than perhaps cost?)

ive been doing a fair bit of research on this spider ,asking questions here and abroad , and after getting all the feed back it seems the pilot power are still the go , the 2ct are more track orintated ,they take longer to warm up and milage is about the same , they tend to suit the hyper sports bike better ,and as for the 52 leen angle i dont think many of us would do that on roads cheers bazz
does the 2ct = more $, probably not much more? I'll ask and post tomorrow....
thanks Bazz....
