Title: Master Cylinder Clutch Suggestions
Post by: XVX on September 22, 2008, 06:59:26 PM
First time poster.

I have a 2002 750.

A few weeks ago I noticed I was leaking clutch fluid near the piston.  I neglected to fix the problem and recently I lost all clutch pressure.

I'm assuming that I need a new master cylinder if so any recommendations?(I would like to get a new brake cylinder to match)   I don't ride super hard, I'm not looking to track the bike so I don't need any crazy racing stuff.  Maybe something with a clear reservoir so I can see the levels easier.

If I don't need to replace it any tips on fixing it?  I have the normal black box style.

Thanks!

Chances are you can't rebuild it.  Fred at yoyodyne could give you the definitive yes/no

If you're looking for remote reservoir masters check the parts for sale section and ebay.  A lot of ducs over a lot of years used the same stroke/bore masters.  Donors include many Monster 900, 1000, S2R1000, S4* 748, 9*6 and some others.  If you want to step up a further notch the radial masters from 999/749 are relatively inexpensive (for radial masters)
