so i saw on another forum :o that a 695 is a destroked 800. and someone was wondering can a 696 then be stroked to be an 800 since the 696 is the 695 with a different head.
any thoughts?

the 800 also has an oil cooler to keep temps down. just fyi.
i'm sure there will be a oil cooler kit for the 696 soon enough.

i'm sure. was just lettin you that there are more differences than just whether its destroked.
Big Q, Why would you do that? The cost would be much higher than just buying a stock 800.
they dont make an 800 in the new style.
and it would cost less than an 1100
I'm pretty sure you could fit the 800 crank to a 696 block.
May need the 800 rods as well, not sure how they compensated for the change in stroke as far as deck height is concerned.
696 pistons may give more compression than you would want.
Additionally, they may not work with the 800 rods, but then they might.
Not a cheap project, but it would be cool.
Problems fitting 696 exhaust pipes to stroked cyls?
does anyone hav numbers on the crank throw and rod lengths of the 695 vs the 800. make the bore and cylinder lengths are the same and it's just those two things that changed?
