Is it time to go home yet? The cigar is sitting here on my desk and I can hear the scotch calling my name.
So who here likes what when it comes to cigars?
Oooohh, sign me up for a cuban Romeo y Julietta...and don't tell anyone else. I'm not supposed to like cigars.
But I do.
[clap]
I don't smoke them, but they occasionally smell ok
Gurkha = Awesome smoke [thumbsup]
The G3 is fantastic. Nothing like a triple ligero cigar [thumbsup]
My fav brand is La Flor Dominicana ;D
Favorite brand Rocky Patel
Oooo that reminds me...I have a Padron 1926 that needs to be fired...or even this pesky Oliva Serie V...
Bolivar Belicosa Habana tied with Arturo Fuente Short Story....all depends on how much time I have...

Ok, now I'm envious...
Smoking cigars becomes a daily occurrance when I let my humidor get that full. Its nice to have dozens of perfectly humidified tasty smokes at ones disposal. [thumbsup]
Nowadays Ill stock up with 5-10 cigars per month max.
Cigarbid... It's a slippery slope! [evil]
I never pay more then 25% of retail. [bacon]

My problem with the Nub is that it is over right as it is getting good. It really needs another inch.
Oh yeah, and Gurkha was pretty darned tasty.
I've thought about trying a pipe just for the heck of it...

i'm a huge fan of padrons (as are most cigar afficianados). vsgs, esgs, the cao brazilias and upmann cameroons. i'm really partial to cameroon and maduro wraps.
i also noticed that someone posted pics of the 5 vegas series A...they're by far my favorite cheap smoke of all time. for a little less than $5 a stick you get better flavor and better quality smoke than a lot of $10-$15 cigars.

What would you guys recommend to a beginning cigar fan?

Personally I'd recommend the La Aurora Robusto (mild to medium), The Perdomo Slow-Aged 826 Robusto Maduro (Medium) and the Vegas5 A.
Any Fuente in the Hemingway line.
As of late my preferences are Nicaraguan.
Check out cigarbid dot com. A buck a stick for Perdomo, La Aroura and Vegas 5's... Bid and don't get crazy, there is always good deals. I bid 5 to 9 bucks for a five pack 9 for really good ones.

try the 5 vegas series A (cinco vegas, not five vegas). its a good daily smoke and relatively mild. the problem i think many people make when getting into cigars is immediately going to the heavy hitters. if you don't acquire the taste for a cigar then they will turn you off very quickly. the padron 6000 is a medium smoke that would be good for a first cigar as well. and if you want something a bit on the shorter side, try a a cao criollo.
In my shop we just fabricated a storm door out of Spanish Cedar.....gave me an idea for a solid, Spanish Cedar Humidor. Any reasons not to do this?
Sorry about the threadjack..

I couldn't find a link on my home computer... It was a few years ago when I picked up two. I think it's a DH-1236 something.
I can't remember.
