after refitting the wires and the gauge back to its place,( was fitting the clip-ons)
i went for a test ride, and i found out that the speedometer now
delays on its reading,it's not moving accordingly with the speed
it's like 1 sec delay between the real speed and the reading,
does anyone know this kinda situation?
thanks for all views and replies,
eric
Unless I'm missing something, I have no way of knowing what kind of bike you have. Which could be important because it would determine whether you have a mechanical or electronic driven speedometer.
I would start by rechecking all the connections you involved in the clip-on installation process. Most likely, it is something you did or a bad connection you created/amplified.
From a previous post it is an '06, which means electronic. All I can think of is check connections.
ya it's a 06 M620,
so i probably loosen the connection?
or is it possible that i squeeze the the wires somehow?
Maybe you did squeeze a wire, and the electric smoke is getting constricted. That would explain the delay.
;)
today i loosened the headlight and rode the bike with it hanging over
but the speedometer is still delaying
is there any other reason?
I got nothing for you, except to suggest that you get a couple of repair manuals before you attempt any more work on your bike. Your problems with this project and your starting issue you posted about earlier seem to stem from inexperience and possibly a lack of enough attention to detail. The Haynes manuals are good, LT Snyders is also helpful. Good Luck
thank for the help.
i realize how ignorant i was,
trying to finish all the work in one day
stupid,
but all in all,
thanks

eh, we all do it. when i changed the tail, headlights, charcoal canister, i did them all at the same time. blew 2 fuses including the main 30A fuse. had to remove everything and start over one by one. found out it was in the tail.
Try unpluging everything. and start with one thing at a time. leading up to the thing you THINK is the problem. that eliminates everything else. I had figured the tail was the problem so i unhooked the entire rear section wiring. then redid everything else. no problems. i knew it was the tail, then i checked each connection back there, one by one.
