Help!!!
I have the oil drained, and Oil screen cap removed on my M695. I have a 1/2 in hex socket with
14 mm Hex, But the plastic oil screen filter seems a mite tight. I am worried that the plastic oil screen will break if I put more torque on it to get it loose.
Is this normal as it is my first time to try and do this?
Any help with this would be more than apreciated!

Answering your question: the oil screen can be in there really, really tight. I thought I broke something the first time I removed mine. I had to put a lot of torque on it. It sounds normal.
Thanks Spidey !! Now I feel confident enough to put more torque on it !!

Did it come out? They are extremely tight.

Yep, came out with a loud snap when I used an extension on a 1/2 in. drive ratchet. Man, that was in pretty tight. Torque in the manual says to install at a minimum 38 NM. Sure appeared to be in tighter than that !!
Thanks for all the help people !!
For some reason I understood the mesh filter to be plastic, that is why I was reluctant to apply so much torque
If I had to guess *conservatively*, I'd say the factory tightens 'em to more than double that 38 Nm, maybe even triple.
Most of the ones I've loosened at the first service are crazy tight, requiring a very stout pull on a 1/2" breaker bar that's 16" long, and they let go with quite a pop.
+1 to that.
I had to use a breaker bar to free mine from the death-grip torque.
I think someone at the factory thinks that they are holding the bike together with the oil screen.
...or maybe they were using threadlocker?
This may sound like a Noob retarded question, but where exactly is the oil screen on an 07 s2r1k? ???

Not sure where on your bike, but I would think it would be near the same for all Monsters ???
My M695 has the access cover on the right side, bottom of the motor. below the oil level sight glass.
It has a wire attached to the temp sensor in the center of the access cover. Do not remove the temp sensor , just the bigger cover.
The screen filter is is there (14 mm hex drive )
Ducati says it should be serviced every 2nd oil change.
Good luck when you remove it.!!! (Read above on how tight it is)
I didn't have a breaker bar the first time I was trying to get mine off so I stupidly placed my weight on the end of my wrench with my hands (in a push up position) and basically fell on my face when it snapped open. >:( ;D

....lol .... spazz! ..... thanks for sharrin ;D
... had a tough time too on an 03, but didn't fall on my face; I think the tightness it might have to do with the heat and the metals expanding / contracting tightening over time ....
