I just picked up a pair of the Thor 50/50 boots for use on my monster. I read all the reviews from the online stores and people were commenting that they use them for commuting on sport bikes and street bikes. They are super comfortable but the toe is so grippy, that it is sometimes hard for me to get my foot back out from under the gear lever. The rubber to rubber contact on the lever grips too well. I was curious if anyone else uses these and has a fix for this. I did adjust my lever but even with more space, and the angle, it still catches.
I have these boots, but I haven't experienced what you describe. Maybe you can try without the rubber?
I went out this afternoon and got used to the feel of the boots. I think they will work fine. I found myself having to think to much when shifting until I got used to them a bit. Maybe they will be better when they break in. I went back towards the middle of the ground with the gear lever. When I raised it all the way, it was not comfortable at all downshifting. It is just gonna take some time. They boots were 25% off at my dealership since they are considered 2008 models. It looks like the 2009 models online are identical, same color even.
I use the same boots for general riding and did find the same, but got used to it after a couple a rides [thumbsup]
Are we enough people to set up a Thor Cub then? [beer] [laugh]
