I wanna go race go carts. I'd like the NYMMC to race go carts together. Who's available to go race go carts on the 19th (that's a Sunday) or the 26th (that's a Sunday too). It's indoors so weather is not a factor.
Here's the info (http://www.gpny.com). First round of drinks afterwards is on me (drinks can either be drinks, coffee, pop, whateves).

I'm definitely in if it's the 26th. The 18th is no good.

That would probably be fine as well.
As a reminder, THIS IS NOT a Usual Suspect only event.. wouldn't want people feeling discouraged after seeing all the US's posting up. Come one, come muthafukin all!
That said, we can go either the 19th or the 26th, either day is fine with me, I just wanna go race some carts... can I live?!
What time you thinking about?

You guys riding up or training up?

I'll be driving. make the beast with two backs the train! That shit made me 15 minutes late this morning. Damn MTA. [laugh]
either sunday is cool with me.
(the 19th is the last DESMO group ride, not sure if we're doing that..)
[thumbsup]19th or the 26th is good for me. lets try to get a big group together so we can rent the track for half hour or a full hour.
Pretty sure I can do the 26th.
I can drive as well. [thumbsup]
26th im in

Anyone else? The more the merrier! There's nothing like stuffing your friend into the wall... well worth the black flag!!
I figure we all show up at 12 noon. For those that haven't been there before, you should show up a bit earlier so that you'll have time to register and watch the mandatory intro video. As CDawg mentioned, don't forget to bring your riding helmet. Not sure how many races you all wanna do but be warned... the races only last for about 15 laps and after the first 2 races you'll already be pretty tired. I'm by no means an expert as I only went one time and my arms were sore for 3 days afterward (we only did 4 races).
Afterwards we can go get some food. :)

YES!!For those that don't know and live in either the city or in Bklyn... as Tommy so ingeniously mentioned... a Hope & Anchor (http://hopeandanchordiner.com/) breakfast beforehand?! Who's in?
Its homecoming for me at my college, sorry but i am going to be attending some other festivities that day [beer]
Word! I haven't been to Hope and Anchor since... well, since I lived in Red Hook.
Bump
Oh! BTW, you may want to bring thin gloves as well. After 4 races last time, my hands were RAW.
I am out! >:(
Blew my knee out at work today.
If I can I will sstill drive over and hang out though.
Jim - GotDuc
I am now +1. Kim's in! ;D
I can't, nephews birthday party paintball day. I am looking forward to shooting him. [evil]
Bump.
A reminder...
EVERYONE in the NYMMC should come out for this, it's gonna be FUN!!!
www.gpny.com (http://www.gpny.com).
We're looking to show up at noon. If you've never been, show up earlier to register. Bring your riding helmets, you'll need them cause I'm going to put you into a wall ;D.
Next week folks, don't forget!

They didn't do that to us. [laugh] Probably should have.... [cheeky]
Seeing that I will just be hanging maybe they will let me have the kill button ;D [evil] ;D

I'll hang with you! My current plan (depending on weather) is to ride up, watch you guys race a couple of laps, have a soda and keep riding.

The experience of putting your friend into the wall is well worth the plenty of a black flag. Besides, they'll only cut your power if the move was over the top blatant, and only after your 1st black flag.
Like I told the guys last time - as far as I'm concerned, it's not whether you win or lose, I could care less about that. What matters is how you play the game and frankly I like to play dirty [cheeky]
Bump. This Sunday folks.
I might have to bail this weekend. My ankle is still sore and I just spent a ton of money getting a new PS3 so I can get ROCK BAND 2. The money would probably be better spent getting a new helmet anyway. I do want to go and it`s probably going to be a blast.

Left ankle or right? If it's your left, you'll be ok cause you won't be needing the brakes ;D
You can always come and hang. I can't race either. :(

right ankle. It should be good by then, but I still have to see. It hurts a little when I drive. I`ve been braking w/ my left when I sit in traffic all morning.

GotDuc,
I am TBD for this Sunday. My lower back's killing me and if it doesn't get any better, I wouldn't be able to get myself up to Mt. Keisco.
Main thing is to feel better.
I am sure this will happen again.

Cdawg,
Can I tag along (weather permitting)? My wrists are feeling better...did a little local riding a couple of weekends ago and it doesn't seem to interfere with my riding at all.
Keep me posted.

oh ok, thanks. also, I'm a newbie to GPNY. Would it be too temperature hot indoors (or too funny for that matter) if I show up and drive with full riding gear ?! (helmet, boots, gloves, jacket, pants) ... lol

Yeah it would.
You'll have to wear the suit that they provide for you (flame retardant), but definitely bring your helmet!

About how many races do you think the group should do ? I just checked the GPNY promotion they're currenlty having 4 races for $80, the "arrive and drive" rate is normally $25 per race. Are you folks members ?
http://www.gpny.com/launch08/currentprom.php (http://www.gpny.com/launch08/currentprom.php)
I don't think anyone's here a member but I'm pretty sure we're gonna be doing 4 races.
GPNY is this Sunday!!.
For those that are leaving from the city, we're meeting up in Bklyn (here (http://hopeandanchordiner.com/)) for breakfast at 9am and if you want to make the journey, you're more than welcome to join us. I still may be riding up there, but I probably won't make my decision until the morning of.
Breakfast or not, the goal is for everyone to meet up at GPNY at 12 noon! Don't forget to bring your riding helmets!
so do we have a reservation or anything... I looked at their calendar for tomorrow..

Nope not registered... last time we were there we showed up at noon and apart from us, there were only a few people there. I don't think it'll be a problem...
I hate do it but I`m going to have to bail on this one. It`s the only day I can get my father to help me change my fron door before winter. I also have to get a lot of other house work done before a party next weekend at my house. Hopefully there will be another one. I can make it to.
:(
well I just called, and there is an event from 12-2pm. The receptionist told me the track will be open again at 2:30 if you want to show up then.... so.......?
I think we're going to go do some maintenance on the SV's .... I don't know what you guys want to do...

Well either is good for me. Let me know what the rest of the crew want to do.
Attention!
Dear fellow NYMMC'ers,
Apparently the track at GPNY isn't available until 2:30pm due in part to a private party (I think) and my lack of planning. Anyhow, we (Cru & I) have elected to postpone the NYMMC GPNY meet for a later date. Instead, we're planning on riding since the forecast is supposed to be glorious. Anyone interested in riding along with us, feel free to meet us at Southside Coffee (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=652+6th+Avenue+11215&sll=41.377905,-74.689019&sspn=0.075868,0.153122&g=652+6th+Avenue+11215&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=addr) in Bklyn at 9:30am. If you're planning on coming along, remember to dress warm since we might be out for a while. Due to current road conditions, I'd call this ride a "B".
If you can't make the meet in Bkyln but would still like to come along for the ride, PM me tonight and we'll figure out where to meet you en route.
My apologies to anyone that's gone out of their way in setting aside time to go to GPNY, I suppose I should've planned it better... whoops.
