I just thought these would be ok for someone who wants clip ons, but not as low as they usually are....

They look pretty good. Nice Price! Any idea how they compare to the rise on the Rizoma's (that can't seem to be found!)?
I saw them at the dealer show in Indy last year. They will work for sure. I got the impression that they are geared mor for the racers. They are not as finished as the Rizoma or Cycle Cat stuff but totally functional. The owners name is Swatt and he is a Ducati guy and he sponsors Mike Fliss (SP)who worked for Section 8.

Why would it? you need a lot of force to snap an aluminum bar thats almost 1 inch thick.

Don't confuse strength with rigidity. Those bolted connections are susceptible to flexing with a long lever arm like that. You probably can't brake it (unless you go down) but it could still feel "mushy", for lack of a better word. Then again, it could be fine. That's why I wondered out loud.
Ahhh. I dont think it would feel mushy then. I have 2.5inch rise on my tommasellis (or something very close to that number) and it feels solid.

I share your thoughts, but compared with the distance from the grip to center clamps on a normal bar, I would think that mushy'ness wouldn't be an issue. Also, clip ons are connected wider (on the fork) and that will create less momentum at the connection point (riser) than if the forces had to travel from the grip, to the center and then out to the forks (as with a normal bar). Just thinking out loud ;)

a good 2 inches lower than stock. This is due to the fact that mine are below triple.

Maybe me. Good find, Stopintime.
These may be the solution to two, or three, issues I'm facing.
1) convert to SBK forks, apparently there are clearance issues with pre-load adjuster and OEM bars
2) Need to raise my bars a bit, back surgery (May solve (1), but not with the bars I've seen so far)
3) Want more of an angle to take some funky pressure off my wrists, as OEM bars are too straight and consequently my thumbs get jammed up on a long ride.

Statler, I have tomasselli Clip ons.
2 inches lower than stock is in refrence to the position opposed to Stock magura bars (however you spell that brand). If i mounted the tomasellis above the triples, it would be stock height.
and that last quote, again, is suppose to be coffin style resoviors, not clip ons. My mistake.

No rush, I will not race you. I asked Bill Swatt which height the ones in the coming pictures are - to be able to plan the height vs stock height. For me it's between these and a Rizoma - both will supply sweep, Swatts more than Rizoma. Rizoma will be higher, I think. Still undecided and will probably not pull any trigger until next summer.
Yes, I'm very interested in finding out more about these clip-ons (nice price point!) Please do post pics and/or start another thread. The thread pissing is cluttering this one up...
Ok - I couldn't wait - bedtime here.....
I still don't know the height, but I'm guessing NOT 3.5"

Those look like 2.5" to me. The 3.5" should be similar to the "tall" Sport Classic clip-ons I have, which are noticeably higher.
do they measure it 2 1/2 from the bottom or top of the collar?
can you adjust the angle of the bar?
If you can adjust the angle and if the tubes come in black I might give them a try. I need a new set of bars.
any more info on these things?
I received an e-mail back from Swatt. The angle is not adjustable. They come w/ a 5 degree angle which they say is the most common to use. If you order black, the bars ar black also. I think Im going to try a set. I`m probably going to get the 1.5" rise. I`m going to measure my bike when I get a chance to see if that is a good height. I`ll post some pics when I get em.

any update on this??
Holy Lazarus thread, Batman! :o
Glad this popped up. I need some new clipons.
They are on my bike now, with a "little" help from my dealer ($$$ [bang] [laugh])
I will post pictures and compare measurements when I get the time to visit my bike (maybe this weekend).
The 3.5" rise model is what I got.
At the moment all I know is that the riser part itself had to be swapped right/left and 180 degrees rotated to allow clearance for the coffin style reservoirs. Doing this also requires longer bolts - one side of the riser part is countersunk, the other is not. I think 30mm instead of 25mm.
The CycleCat or MonsterParts spacers were also required to make room for the reservoirs. Hoses and wires had to be rerouted around the new SpeedyMoto top triple.
My Rizoma bar ends need other bits to fit inside the clip on bars, different inner diameter.
thank you sir!! the spacers and switching the brackets around was my main concern.. i'm gonna pull the trigger on these tonight, going with 1.5 inch raise so i'll let ya guys know how it all works out.
drew
If you want some adjustibility with 3.5" rise, Speedymoto just came out with their version of the cycle cat bars....for a whopping $280
These look like the ones I saw at the motorcycle show last week. I forgot to get the brand before I left but I think these may have been it. I will be getting a set of the 1.5" set very very soon. (probably in a week or less)

The manufacturer, Bill Swatt, told me he was going to a show. It might very well have been these you saw.
To you and others: it's on coffin style reservoirs you need the spacers and the reversal/side swapping procedure. Might not need the spacers for plastic cup reservoirs - I really don't know. Another warning is that some people have encountered (headlight?) clearance issues with other brands of lower/no rise clip ons.
I suggest getting them from MonsterParts.com - he knows about the clearance issues and will supply the spacers and different bolts if needed.

Hi Drew,
I think you will need the spacers no matter which riser you get…
The headlight bracket is tight where the clamp is…but I don’t think you'll have any trouble on your bike (the 02+ are a little different)
depending how tall you are…you may want to go with the 2.5 riser instead of the 1.5…the 1.5 puts the bars right at the upper triple, which is pretty low unless you have long arms.
the good part about the SWATT's is you can get just the riser if you want to try a different height later.

That is exactly the pic I have been looking for. I picked up a set of Cycle Cat clip for the multistroodle on ebay to use after my SBK fork swap and wondered how they would work. They have a 2.5" rise and are very similar to the Swatt clips. That is, the bar clamp sits in front of the triple, not to the side like the monster Cycle Cat clips. Thanks.
<my .02 Cents>

What exactly do you not like about the looks. They use quality materials and they are clean. As far as I can tell they LOOK fine so if it is about fitment then say that but I really don't see any reason to bash the looks. They are a bit plain with none of the frills but for $130-$140 you can't expect to get all the "frills" of a set of $300+ clip-ons.
The price is good, there's no argument there.
From the looks of the pictures, maybe they are bad pictures, but I don't see quality material/construction.
Functional, sure.
The Swatt clip-on with no rise are ok, but the risers on the Swatt = [puke]
And yeah you can't get the CC anymore,
but these Speedymotos look so much better.

Honestly I can't stand the looks of any of the clip-ons with risers. Have not seen a brand yet that I like with tall risers. That is why I will probably get some with only the 1.5" rise b/c it does not look quite as bad but will not be as aggressive as standard clip-ons.

I'll agree with you on that. I don't like clip-ons with risers (over 1-1.5") either.

Good choice. SpeedyMoto clip ons are hawt...
but I may be biased.
What I don't get, is why you would remove the bars, and then put on 3.5" clip on risers that are just as tall as the bar was.

The tall swatt clip ons are 37 ounces w/hardware

Adjustability. Angle, sweep, height.
The positioning farther forward will help weight the front wheel.
The ability to replace a $30 clip on tube instead of a $70 bar if you drop it.
Plus the bar riser mounts on the stock triple are a convenient place to mount a tire-pressure monitoring system or GPS.
