Title: S2R Wiring harness to Speedo connector
Post by: johnnyrocket on October 08, 2008, 02:54:25 AM
I have a 2006 S2R 1000. The plug that goes into the speedo has been crushed and all i need is a new 28 pin plug. I am trying to find a new plug without having to buy the entire harness for $1100. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like an AMP product (which might make sense as many other connectors on the machine are AMP) however I can not find a reference to a 26 round pin connector. It resembles their Econseal series but they have flat pins. The connector bears a number 3193, AMP identifiers are 6 digits so no luck there.
AMP is Tyco, what I would suggest is that you locate a local Tyco dealer and take your instrument cluster to them, depending how good a parts person you get, you may find what you are looking for.

Pain in the ass job to fit all them pins tho.

Capo beat me to it.  Anyway,   http://catalog.tycoelectronics.com/catalog/menu/en/14993?BML=11177,13981

A good auto parts store that deals with professionals may be able to help.

Thanks for the help, i was on the tyco site for hours and couldn't find the plug. I am trying to find a local tyco dealer, if i cant find one i will map the pin locations and push each one in individually and then load the space up with silicon.
I must say if Ducati was as helpful as the people on this site everyone would be riding a Ducati.
