Title: Deal King returns
Post by: Monsterlover on October 08, 2008, 07:05:54 PM
You may remember a month ago my epic score of a 1994 accord ex coupe for $200 that needed a head gasket.

I finally got to it tonight.

It also had an epic oil leak.

I drove it around the hood to get it up to temp and pulled it in the garage.  Definitely was spewing coolant out the side of the head.

However, it wasn't from the gasket.  Split heater hose where it fits up to the cylinder head ;D ;D ;D ;D

I had to pull the distributor off the head as well, to gain access to the hose, and discovered it was the source of the epic leak.

Fixed the hose with a piece I already had here, and fixed the distributor o-ring leak with some RTV

I. AM. AWESOME!!!

I did find that I have to change out a CV shaft on the right side so that's probably a hundred bucks.  Im trying to stay at $500 or less and have the car road worthy.

In addition to good rear tires and 2 new front tires, it also has a brand new cat back exhaust.

WTF was this kid thinking?!?!

Bacon time.

Civic?

You mean Accord. . . and by cat back exhaust, I mean cat back exhaust.  Not fart pipe exhaust.

I got the deal because the kid didn't know what he had and was tired of putting money into the car.

Yay me ;)

Well, mine does.  ;D

EX's had it in 94

I got the CV shaft swapped out tonight after an hour of torturing the axle nut off [evil]

Fixed a transmission leak as well, refilled and test drove.

It gets the  [thumbsup] even though it burns a little oil.

It got tire on the 1-2 shift  [evil]

I couldn't believe it  [laugh] [laugh]

I stand corrected.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accord (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accord)

says it made 145 stock. I doubt it's even close to that now...
