I have an '01 M900Sie and I noticed in the course of modifying the cans that the fitting where the cans meet the mid-pipe on the left side is very loose. The right side is a nice tight fit. If I grab the exit of the can I can rattle the whole can around and there is clearly a leak (carbon deposits) at this joint. Any ideas how best to fix this up? Wrap some high-temp tape or something around the pipe and then re-assemble?
exhaust goo!
OK - enough with the technical lingo ;) - do you have a brand name to recommend? Maybe some high-temp black RTV would work?
nope, its all pretty much the same stuff to me. Pep boys, ask for an exhaust joint sealer and try not to be really messy.

Take it to a muffler shop and have them expand the pipe slightly so it fits tight in that joint.
