Excuse me for laughing in the subject line but when I say pants I normally mean underpants [laugh] but in this case I mean motorcycle pants [laugh] (trousers) well I hope you follow me.
Anyway in light of WhiteCat, that crazy pregnant dog that tried to make a Ducati sandwich with WhiteCats bike and Tommy's truck and drivers in general in Dallas. I have realised that I need better protection on my legs than jeans.
I would like some advice on what type of pants [laugh] I should look at. I know leather gives the best protection but are there some out there that are more comfortable in the heat?
I am confirmed now for THC so I need something that I can wear all day. Any advice is, as always, appreciated.

Bonwilder just bought a pair of Dainese leather pants from there yesterday.
They have a good selection to try on, and are very knowledgable.
Seems like a few of the members here mentioned price matching. I think they have more than what they show online. You should deff pay them a visit
I have a set of the ICON field armor for legs that I'm thinking of selling. I've only used them a few times. I like the idea but they don't fit with my Sidi Vertigos. PM me if you're interested. Hell you can borrow them and see if you like 'em [thumbsup]
I just use my Dainese Textile pants as over-pants
I know them well, We bought all of Amy's gear there and the F*ck off chain I lock my bike up with.
I am planning on going there tomorrow, I just wanted a bit of advice on alternative to leather materials.
So, who's going to start the REAL (as Andy described) "pants" thread? [evil]

what time you going to ML? I'm doing a wee bit o'work in the AM ( At my Motopia Office ), then doing the AMS / MotoLiberty circuit, then a bit more work.
....
I've gotten some of the draggin jeans through motoliberty, and they are decent, kevlar lined but no armor - but hot in the summer, I wear those most of the time. My wife picked up a pair of first gear mesh tex2 pants there, and they are very sturdy textile/mesh, with knee and hip armor. ML is closing them out in limited sizes for around $100 - I would get them without hesitation if they had my size, they seem to be a tougher mesh than most.
For cimmuting, I did pick up a pair of olympia mesh overpants there, nice and cool, and easy to slip on over work clothes, but feel a bit thin.
They also have some shift havoc fabric/leather hybrid pants as well, but they were cut for a taller build than me :-\

What time are you hitting the office Patrick?
I wear kevlar jeans with dainese armor underneath. It has knee, shin, and thigh protection. Very comfy and not too bulky under the jeans.
I have a set of Dainese drake air textile pants that are cool and comfy. large vents on the thighs and removable armor, so they can be machine washed.

Yes I did, I have replied.
Thanks for the help.
After looking around I decided to go for leather. I got a great deal on a pair of Dainese from Cycle Gear on the 75.
Cool [thumbsup]
Very nice. Getting to be very nice leather wearing weather indeed. Are they ventilated or non-vent? Too bad the summers are so freaking hot here. I just don't feel as safe and comfy wearing jeans, mesh jackets, etc. I do it but solely out of comfort due to sun surface temps in TX. Spring, winter and fall are very nice. It might be 20 degrees and sleeting one day in January but two days later it will be sunny and 65 degrees! We pay dearly in the summer for having a 12 month riding season. I'll still take it. [thumbsup] Poor Alan in Ohio will be singing the blues when we post about December and January rides! [laugh] But then again he has actual curvy roads, pretty scenery and hills... ah, what are those again? ;D
