Holding comment until I've finished other than to say I'm more concerned now than I was before.
Again with the whole "privateers aren't professional racing" crap. Then he goes on to complain that Michael Jordan can't get parts. Oh, and I could do with a lot fewer "I was raised in a Christian family" references. You're representing the sanctioning body for a sport here, dude, not your church. How long before he starts telling us that God told him to impose the dyno rule?
[laugh]
Maybe he believes he's spreading democracy (I actually wrote democrazy sooooo appropriate!) to the middle east motorcycle racing.

Waiting for the Mission Accomplished banner to appear behind him ;D

at DMG there's not much difference
so is it just me or does the video quit playing around minute 26 for everyone?

Cue the revival meeting music. Let's get preacher Edmundson to faith-heal Spies' elbowz and Duhamel's attitude ;D
It cut out just as he was talking about how the AMA board make the beast with two backsed him over, started playing again though.

Maybe the player should give us a warning when it does that....like:
BUFFERING EGOTISTICAL RANT...PLEASE WAIT
The video would only be 3 minutes long though...

if the ama make the beast with two backsed you out of millions of dollars, you might be a tad upset, too.
finally got through it all... some hot air, some good history. no rules package or '09 details but at the very end he says the OEMs are going to be involved in AMA/DMG pro racing.
so i guess that sorta settles that. apparently.
That was excerpts?
I want a half-hour of my life back.
Stopped at 20 minutes on mine. I do sympathize and agree with some of his points. I stopped watching AMA racing because, well, I don't like Spies and I don't like Mladin and they're the only ones who are winning. Now, something it inherently wrong if the same team is winning every single race for the last several years.
But I do find DMG's tactics to be heavy handed and ill conceived. Their rules are not in line with the marketplace. They're not in line with the FIA and they're not in line with the manufacturers. And from what I've seen, they may not even be in line with teams, or more importantly, fans. I also could have done with less of the sermon and more on how their rules package is going to achieve better racing.

you forget that the team in question 1) didn't abandon the superbike class for half a decade over a silly rule disagreement (like kawasaki and yamaha), 2) wasn't running a machine from a manufacturer that decided to blank-sheet redesign their race platform every two years (honda), and 3) didn't stop leasing proven, race-ready superbikes from the manufacturer because they thought they could build a better superbike in torrance than hrc could in japan (again, honda).
it may have been "boring," but suzuki earned their positions at the top of the podium.
this doesn't even take into consideration that the same crew/rider has been w/ the team for a decade, or the fact that yates dominated the final year of superstock on a non-factory suzuki.
...then again, what was most of the rest of the field riding in superstock?
