Title: So is the M750TE on the road yet?
Post by: red baron on May 09, 2008, 08:34:30 PM
Is it legal?

Is it being ridden?

Is it available for loan? ;:|

She has tags.... she is insured.... I even got the new pinkslip in the mail today, but....

she has a nasty fuel leak. If I have time this weekend, I'll lift the tank and check to see where it's coming from.

the 750 only has a few miles on it, so it's easy to clean...... the 1098 has 5k on the clock, and it looks fresh off the showroom floor. I wash it after every long ride. cleaning is a sickness  [cheeky]

I have heard a clean bike is the sign of a sick mind.

The M750TE was a surprise gift to BP for his wedding.

There was a complete board on TOB regarding the build.

Lots of donated parts, sweat, tears & love.

I've never met him in person either.

Stick around here and you'll get to know him, though.  [thumbsup]

Oh lord...  My wife already gives me enough grief as it is for spending so much time on here, and now I am invited to stay longer?  How can I resist?  After all, wouldn't it be terribly rude to refuse the hospitality of others? ;)

If you think it looks good in the picture, you should see it in person.

I haven't seen a picture that does that paint true justice.
Imagine the most fantastic red apple you've ever seen.
Then mix that with a fine pearl/metallic.
Then with the best gloss over that.
OK?
It's 10x better than *that*.

On a serious note.... I say that, knowing full well there are some out there that have rubbed John the wrong way, and, knowing that John has rubbed some the wrong way..... but the guy has taken on this project, and is determined to see it through, until the bike is perfect in his eyes.

He has spent countless hours working on it, he's spent quite a bit of his own money, and has driven many-o-mile, to not only deliver it to Reseda, but he's also driven up to Bako, to install the guages and add a few other goodies....and.... is planning another trip up this, or next weekend to button up a few minor details, and address the fuel issue..... all of which, are his idea. He was bummed that I had not told him personally about the fuel issue. ( I didn't tell him, because I know how he feels about wanting the bike to be perfect, I didn't want to add anything to his constantly full plate)

I'll be the first to say John's a nut, he'll even agree, but he's the kinda nut, you'd all want as a friend.

My bruth'a from anoth'a muth'a

Being the "why can't we all just get along" kind'a guy I am.... It truely pains me to see family poke at each other...and to see some do it over the toasty bike..... kills me.

I think old timers from the DML and the origional mailing list will agree that John is not only a great wrench, but always willing to give a helpful hand.  I do hope he shows up here, even if he is a squirrel lover.

and.... taking the dml stickers off it sucked :(

I'm leaving the dml engraved crank case cover on it as a simple reminder of what was.  ;)

That sits well with me.   The TE was a child of the old DML and moved here with us to the DMF.
