Thats cool!
F that! They celebrate the fastest guy in MotoGP by lowering the speed limit?!
They should have Stoner ride from one end of town to the other and clock him as he leaves the square. Set the speed limit 1 kph faster.
Don't forget this is in Italy, the speed limit is a guide only.

No it's not - it's an absolute - only it's to be understood as a minimum, not the usual maximum [moto]
At first I thought "That blows"! but after I saw the sign I thought it was cool. [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
Be cool if they do that for Hayden.

I ment 2 years ago. Boy your guys are rough!
;D
Everything I have always seen about Italy in bike and car mags, the writer always raves about how the speed limits are not as strongly enforced as somewhere like England or Australia.
I always got the impression that if you 20 - 30 k's over on the highway the police were not to worried, where here in Australia if you are 5 k's over the limit, you are pulled over, dragged from your car and a gun held to your head while being screamed at about how your going to kill everyone and end all life on the planet!
Not arguing with you stopintime, you are much closer to them than I am of course, the closest I've been to Italy is the talking to the owner of the Italian Delicatessen down the road, although... I think he's from New Zealand! ;D

Hayden is AMA Supersport Champion, AMA Superbike Champion, Daytona 200 Champion, MotoGP World Champion, he's won on dirt, he's won on asphalt, he's won national races, he's won international races, he's won short track, half-mile, and T-T's. He beat Duhammel to win a championship, He beat Mladin to win a championship, he beat Rossi to win championship. Yeah, it's a damn shame he hasn't accomplished as much as you. Congratulations on winning that free order of fries with next sandwich purchase [thumbsup]

GO Bubba! I can't wait to see him on a D16!
Here's something in English on Rossi's home town:

He also hasn't really done shit in two years.
But you are right. My life, sucks. I never won an AMA Supersport Championship, AMA Superbike Championship, Daytona 200, Moto GP Champion, or won on asphalt.
I have been wrecked by a world champion on dirt as he lapped me in a vintage race (Thanks Brad Lackey!), and I did go 2 - 1 in an outdoor race once. That was cool.
But my town didn't turn the speed limit to 257, which really, was a dissapointment.
While I might not be able to dress myself, and my girlfriend has to feed, bathe, and whipe my own ass you are right, I did manage to peel a sticker off of my super-large-won't-fit-in-my-cup-holder-coke and get a free fry. However, I lost my job today and I can't afford the required sandwhich to get my free fry. It really sucks.
I did however craft this witty response all by myself.
(On a more serious note: I think we, as fans, get to critique results. You are right, we are not all professional racers. They are, and since they decided to be that, I decided to give them shit about not winning anything for a few years. If Hayden was in my apartment I would say, "damn, good season three years ago -- but man, wtf on these last two years..." and I would bet dollars to donuts he would say, "Yeah, these last two years have sucked -- maybe next year i can do better and change the speed limit in my shit town to 69....")
Sorry to hear about that. That sucks. Maybe you and Nicky will have a better year next, when you're both at another company who sees your worth.
I mean, look at the stats Nicky got.
Grand Prix victories 3 3
2nd Positions 6 6
3rd Positions 16 6
Podiums 25 25
Poles 5 5
Race fastest lap 6 6
World Championship wins 1 1
Its not like someone at Ducati, said, "Hmm, what dumb-ass can we pick up for '09?" He effing RAN OUT OF GAS 100 yards to the finish line. Not his fault.
The man can ride. So can Stoner, but not with a broken hand. The sh*t didn't all line up for either of them this year.
I was making fun of Bubba as well riding for Honda, but now that he's on the team, I'm getting all positive [thumbsup]

Speed limit in Italy..merely a suggestion! I didn't get pulled over on the highways and countryside for going triple digits but around the villages..had to be carefeul of the radars and awaiting police cars. Motorists, bicyclists and other bikers indicated speed traps though. [thumbsup]
