Everybody look at the old forum Godec had a fall, he is ok but got hurt. Hunkypunk here sending him best wishes and a speedy recovery. Thank god for gear and helmets and that he was wearing his!
I was up in Colorado Springs this week checking in with my tribe of the North. WannaDucBad took me out to the cave where he is performing great acts of resuscitation on the beloved Dragon. It is so close now. I can't wait to get the call that he has regained his breath at last. I must say, the Paladin believes the Dragon now when he said it's no mean feat keeping the rider aboard.

Marsrr, my brother and I took a little ride up to Silverton today for luch. Traffic was light, and we made good (if not totally legal) time. The roads are a little rough from the wet winter, but we were still able to do some serious work on the wintertime chicken strips.

Nope. According to Mars, Red Mountain pass is a mess. We had a pretty serious winter in the mountains and it took it's toll. Pot holes and road damage abound up there.
thats a big 10-4 on the roads up here. red mtn pass by the mine is one of the worst spots :o but i,ll scout it out again and keep u all posted [thumbsup]

Ha! To think Bonfy took the most stock award at DiTR last year!!! Well opinions?!?!?
Yeah, baby!!!!! That's what I'm talkin about!
I am almost beside myself with excitement.
It is beautiful, WDB! Can't wait to ride that Monster again!
VERY NICE!! But something just isn't right. Somethings missing or doesn't belong. Let me see. Ah . . . . . I got it. It's the kickstand. It's just not right without the shoe under the kickstand. That should be a permanent farkle for that bike. [laugh] [thumbsup]
NICE JOB.
Farkle!! Great word, Kawtown! [laugh] [laugh]. BTW, I think you need to change either your name or your bike's name to Kawbell. Need more Kawbell!!!
[laugh] Holy cow it's past someones bed time!! You two are funny.

Spem Successus Alit - Latin: "Success Breed's Hope" is a rough translation. It's the Clan Ross Crest(Scottish). Thanks for the compliments guys. About the High Dersest Hooligans, honestly my spare time has been going into the Dragon, and I kinda forgot. I'd be honored to help with that though. I'll get to work on it! [thumbsup]
Hey WDB this is Dusty. Having difficulties registering on this forum so I am using Kingbaby's account for now. I just have to say that you have probably to coolest monster I have ever seen!!! That just rocks!!! I agree with Kawboy/bell though, it's missing the CFM kickstand plate. Can't wait to see it in person. Now when are you going to get your lovely wife a bike and ride down here?? Great job [thumbsup]
We're looking at it. I'm trying to get buckled down at work here right now. If I can get a good income stream going we will buy her something. Prolly start her on a UJM. She's into cruisers though so no poking fun if she ever pulls up on a [gasp]Harley[/gasp]. I'm ok with it for her though, because it's the function that appeals to her. Low and comfortable ride height, as well, she likes the weight distribution, they have a really low center of gravity. She probably doesn't need to be on a over powered machine anyhoo. I just would like her to be able to ride with me, so whatever she's most likely to ride is what I want her on. We all gotta ride our own rides right? Anyway that's at least a year out at this point, for now we'll look for a cheap used cruiser in time for Ouray. I saw a used Vulcan 600cc going for $1000 the other day. Something like that would prolly be a perfect starter for her.
I love that woman though, the other day we stopped at the HD stealership and she was sitting on everything and she asked if bike she was sitting on would keep up with me. I told her I would never ride in a way that she would feel compelled to attempt it. After all she got her first bicycle for Christmas this year. ;)
[thumbsup] Hey WDB, that monster rocks!!! [beer]
When Lance saw the pictures of the Dragon, he announced that he is tired of riding cupcake on the Paladin. He is demanding a release from his servitude on the grounds that the Dragon is more bad-ass and hence appropriate to his transportation needs. Where's the love! :( I informed him that he'd better pipe down or he'll be riding a tree again. [laugh]

Assclown? ASSCLOWN!! That's one of my favorite words, ya know. Makes me wanna pop in "Office Space". So there's no room for me on the back of the Dragon anymore? I guess a gargoyle like me would put your ride over the top. Plus, a guardian bell is probably all you need. Guess I'll go back to assisting the Paladin in his formidable task. :o

Uh Huh. Likely excuse. It never happened. It's just a tall tale you were spinning. [coffee] ;D
No, seriously! Wednesday night, I attempted to download my pics from my camera into my computer where I usually upload them to photobucket and then onto the DMF. My computer isn't having any of it. I guess even a picture of a harley slows things down to a snail's pace. I deleted a ton of old picutres I had backed up on a memory stick, yet still my computer refuses to welcome the harley pictures. Scarey.

The Dirty Truckster was feeling put out and neglected since I picked up the Monster, so I took her for a little ride over to Heron Lake. I rode the back way from Stone Lake to get my dirt road fix. Good time for some solitude.

ha! HA! For sure! Actually, the Duc did not disappoint me. The road was washboard for a lot of it and that was my concern, whether I would jar it's delicate electronic system past it's capabilities. Also, worried about cutting a tire since the street tires probably aren't as tough as off-roads. But I kept my speed down and just tried to keep the shiney side up. Like I told Dusty, it is no big deal for me to step off the bike anymore when the situation demands it. I can't wait to get an off-road bike though. That was so much fun, brought back memories. Wish I could've let loose and played like Dusty.
WOW!!!YOU BOTH ROCK!!!

So you don't need the blue Frank Thomas gloves I was going to bring up?
puhshaaa, ;D no these gloves fit good. I don't really care about the flowers, you can't really tell what they are until you're close anyway. It's comfortable as hell, and it'll look good on the bike.
Should look great, WDB! [thumbsup]
Thanks, I'm telling peeps the flowers is fo' de' funeral!!! In tough gangsta talk.
I was thinking they gave it a luau type attitude, just your style. How many times have you been to Hawaii now? Did you get your gear at BMW/Ducati on 21st?
PJ's is having a big sale today for their anniversary. I have to go over to pick up the Paladin from his 7500 mile service. I am going to try NOT to see any of their gear or farkles. I've got everything I need and don't care if it's on sale. Repeat after me. Even though my boots are getting a little roughshod and my leathers look like they've been through a couple of crashes. :(
Good luck with the Dragon this weekend. I hope you can find those bugs in the electrical system. Hopefully that manual you bought will have enough detail on the schematic to figure out the grounding problem since you've already scrutinized the bike for the obvious. [bang]
Since the weather is heating up, it was time to do something about air flow on the Dirty Truckster. I really disliked the stock windscreen, so it was collecting dust in the garage.

Dusty & I stopped for a quick photo north of Madrid on our Sunday ride to the Santa Fe ski basin. We went up a couple of times. the second was later that day with no traffic at all. If youve never ridden this road, its a blast ! but be careful, its nothing like the crest. some VERY tight corners & a little rough. I love it.

It's okay by me....I mean if your bike doesn't mind you faking an o-face once in a while, I certainly don't either.

How exactly do you FAKE and O face??

Yeah.. it true.. I suck, Missed what appears to be a great ride. I was just wiped the hell out and needed to go home and pass out. (which I did) I'm glad everyone had fun and it looks like Mr. [bacon] is making some new friends... After being passed on tramway by DGGM I've established I need some kind of exhaust on my bike its too damn quiet and that 1098s sounds like sex when it goes by.. mmm ok I'm done. Off to work!
You look like the Fantastic four ....er five!
That last pic is awesome, everyone looks great and just happy to be alive. Makes me wish I'd been there....
I was only able to load vids less than 1.5 min. Which is probably a good thing knowing your attention spans are roughly half that. So, do your best to focus.
Still can't get the speed thing figured out, but everything else about the camera is great.

First attempt editing, adding music, transfering from Mac - PC. It aint no Tarentino / Rodriguez flick, but promise to work on it. Workin on some cool effects. Thank you Gangstas, especially my editing specialist (with benefits) for trusting me enough to ride too damn close, too damn fast to get some shots that we are workin on for the next one. The Euros in the white car shooting video hangin out the car window was our favorite part. Wish we would have stopped them & asked to send a copy.

Excellent job of production, Kingbaby. I can't wait to watch it on a fast computer now so I can see the moves better. Thanks for videoing us. It has to be a bit of a bore for you. :-\

The only time I was rained on while riding was at the start between here and Santa Fe. After that the riding weather was great. It was a little warm when I rolled into Salt Lake City, like 103 degrees. I did get rained on the first 2 nights camping at Great Sand Dunes and Black Canyon. That was it.
Did have a minor run in with the local law enforcement at Dinosaur, Colorado right at the Colorado Utah border. He got me going 74 in a 60. After a verbal warning and a "Yes Mister Officer, I'll try to slow down" I was on my way again. [leo] [thumbsup]
No bike troubles except one I should have taken care of before I left. [bang] I was sure my front tire would make, but alas, no. Had to stop at Rock Springs, WY and get a new one put on. 1 hour and $250 later :o I was back on the road with a Metzler on the back and a new Dunlop up front. [moto]
WOW! Beautiful pictures, Kawboy! Glad to see Old Faithful is still doing it's thing. I haven't been there since the early 80's. Shame on me.

I certainly hope you didn't miss this in the "vote for me" thread.... http://www.inews3.com/play.php?first=Lance&last=Thruster
that seems like a perfect setting for the Lance!
Yes, Lance was schmoozing the crowd for sure. He was shaking hands/wings and trying to kiss babies (nothing new there).
He was so anxious to get in that at one point he grabbed our tickets and started pulling us (he can be such the 600+ year old child)
And true to form, he demanded his usual fix of chewy sprees (gotta keep the sugar buzz going)
It was interesting that people kept calling him Chupacabra. First of all, I don't think Chupacabra has wings and secondly, Lance doesn't want to kill other animals, he just likes having his way with them. [evil]
[evil] I think Lance is channeling Gloria's smile in that last photo! [evil] [bacon]

Lance has corrected me. I said it was his first Zozobra, but he says that he's never missed one since they started up. Great. Like I needed to know that. It was my 10th or 11th. I came down from the Springs a couple times for Zozobra while I was still living up there. It is one of my Fall rituals along with getting my green chile.
He is definitely the Gloom Gobbler. He shits that stuff out. [evil]

Family camping/paddling trip? Heron or Abique lakes maybe?
I'm in! [thumbsup] I'll bring my kayaks and windsurfer. They are old relics circa 1992, but they get me around the lake.
Sounds like a good time for a reunion.
WOOT! I bought a new toy today!
It's a Springfield Armory XD in 9mm. It came with the holster, speed loader, extra 16-round magazine with double sheath. Springfield is also running a special through select dealers for 2 (additional) free high capacity magazines with a sheath. That means I scored 4 high-cap mags with purchase.
I'll try to put it through it's paces this weekend.
Sorry Zaster, I had to skip on the Glock as they simply don't fit my hands (even if they are made in Austria. :))

Nice toy!! [thumbsup]
Glock is like you said Austrian and not German (they can't stand each other) and probably pretty pricey.
I always liked the 9mm while using it in the Uzi and I think that caliper is underrated for what it can do.
Let me know when you're ready for some target shooting competition :)
Ha! I won't be ready for competition any time soon...I'm kinda rusty. I already own another 9mm (a Taurus PT111) but wanted another in anticipation of our concealed carry class later this month. Jackie and I are both getting our CC permits. I plan on qualifying with a .45 but doubt I will ever carry one.
I'm actually a big fan of the 9mm. Many people rave about the .40 S&W, but I find them way too loud and think they have too much recoil for Jackie's comfort. 9mm cartridges can be had for about $.25 per round which is a nice bonus if you plan on firing a lot. I wanted both pistols to use the same round. I considered another PT111, but wanted more than 10 rounds in the mag.
Shoulda got the .45 model. Not just because it's .45 ... but because you can change it over to all the other calibers in the XD line.
Otherwise, nice pistols! My buddy has one.
Nah, if I wanted a .45 I'd buy a 1911.
I ran about 100 rounds through it today at the range. Needless to say, I'm ver pleased with my choice. It came down to the Springfield and the FN, but the extra mag offer and the available accessories for the XD helped make up my mind.
I've had more than a couple, and shot an azz load. My 9mm Ruger is my fav ever. Not a Glock fan, never tryed your new toy.... mainly just checking in to say I like the 9mm round.

Oh, I completely agree... thats why I own a kimber. Just bringing up the fact that the XD is a VERY versitile gun that can have calibers swapped VERY easy.
Sweet count!! Love it!!

AS far as 9mm pistols go, take a close look at the XD. I may be biased, but it's an excellent choice. If you prefer a more traditional design, I love the CZ and the Baby Desert Eagle.

Not a nutto here, but I am definitely purchasing my first piece of artillery within the next week or two. It isn't going to get any easier with this new guy in office so now is the time. My sons have finally convinced me of the sensibility of owning at least one weapon, however, they are still working on the cellphone project.

'Artillery Luger' Lange Pistole 08 with 32 round Trommel-Magazin 08 and removable stock.
Not really in the "big guns" category... But the local uber-bar (50 beers on tap, 100 different beers in bottles) has started a wonderful deal known as Schooner Night.

You buy the glass for 6 bux... then you get top-tier import beers in it for $5.75 every Monday and Thursday. In this picture it is filled with my Apricot Koelsch (named Klutch-Grinder cause I installed my make-shift clutch whilst brewing it). But still, 5.75 for 32oz of good, imported beer. MMMMHM.

I'm not particularly interested in whether people are buying guns because of a perceived political threat. I'm only interested on whether they can buy them when they choose.
Speaking of which, I bought a little .22 rifle last night. No Coke can will be safe from now on! Growing up we used to shoot .22s all the time, and we had more fun than you can shake a stick at. I haven't been spending enough time with my brothers lately, so going shooting will be nice. Besides, $16 for 500 rounds means uber-cheap fun!

I'm not planning to actually carry it. It is more for statistics and home protection. Like I mentioned before, with my quick descent into road rage at the slightest provocation, I don't need to have anything readily at hand that could put me on death row. [evil]

As I promised Dusty, here is a picture of the new dog! After our Golden Retriever died a few months ago, we were torn on whether or not to get another dog. Ultimately, it felt as if something was missing without a pup in the house.
We adopted her from the local animal shelter over a week ago. I wanted a medium sized dog that didn't shed as much this time. I've had Golden Retrievers all my life, but wanted something a bit different. It had to be female, intelligent, around 30-35 pounds, good with kids, and have a disposition suitable for guard-dog duties.
This is what we wound up with:
Meet Sydney. I know it's cliche', but my daughters loved the name. She's about 1 year old and fits all of the criteria. It's nice to rescue an older dog from the shelter, and it's a nice bonus that we don't have to deal with the typical "puppy stuff."
She is adorable!! Good for you. I will have a puppy again someday, but it will be after the ferret era. I still have four of those running around.
Thanks Count! I have to agree with Bonfy - she IS very adorable. Once again : Congratulations!
I have to ask though, after reading the required criteria, did she have to send in her resume? Also, is that Jackie's leg lying there next to her? ;)

Thanks! No resume was needed, Jackie and the girls approved on-the-spot. She thought it would be fun to play with Hannah's slippers, so we bought the boot chew toy for her.
No slipper chewing! Are you going to try to get her on the boat? Now you need one of these [clap]

Bonfy, cute pics! I am a little partial to Kara btw. What's that "embarrassing children" thingy behind her in the first picture?
OMG, that looks just like one of WDB's dogs, Shamus!!!
close Bonfy.... it's Seamus.... Celts don't spell so good. [cheeky]
Kingbaby, Karen and I went to have dinner and see WDB last night. Here he was in all his glory

He was very handy at accomodating us. He made even lemon and straws for our water fun

Later, we surprised him with a little gift sitting on a wine cork (everyone with a duc needs one of these)

OMG, is yall are nucking futts! [laugh] Figures I'd be facing the other way when Ducmouse is doing the nipple dance practically in my ear. :P ;D
Alright...i know I need to send some photos home because I am having too much fun. Today i rode about 150 miles as the weather hit about 62 degrees. I rode up Hwy 1 past malibu, then turned off onto Rt 23 which if you google map the coast you can see it is a rats nest of very tight twisties, laced with some rocks and sand. Besides the small road glitches that TRIED to take me out. I had a good run and made it thru with only one slide on the sand but didnt lose control or fall or come remotely close but HP2 definately needs better tires than 7 year old Pirelli's! Enjoy the shots i had fun riding this road!

Hey, Happy New Year you guys! I hope someone posts up pictures of PJ's ride. I rode with a couple of the SoCO Dogs up to Castle Rock to a big BMWfest. You know how we are lumped together with the Triumphs out of PJ's, it's the same deal with the shop up here, only it is BMW's. I could think of worse things. At least they are European. [cheeky]

Beautiful job, you guys. I am inspired to try to make a video. Expect a few phone calls and a ready-for-viewing date of mid-March. :-[
Yes, Happy New Year! Let's plan some group rides and lots of activities in between. There's a lot of beautiful road between Colorado Springs and Albuquerque. :-*
We have another one we want to post up (and we will) that is longer with more pics of everyone we have pics of in the Ducati realm (and a few others). We appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to more rides and fun in '09. You all ROCK!!!! [thumbsup] [moto]

Dooooood, in the 9 months we have known you, you have endo'ed your bike and wrecked your knee (from walking).
You want the govt to trust you with a $20 million fighter plane???! :-* :P
Perhaps you should go to law school instead.
Hey now! I didn't endo the bike... just layed it over. Zaster is the one who managed to make the seat fly off.
but, then again... if all this happened in 9 months... think about the other 21 years... o.O

Sorry TresGatos, you must have caught us sleeping at the handlebars! While you were over here in ABQ, I was still in Colorado, then a short stint in Addison, TX, a Dallas suburb, as you well know, then over here to the Hood. Now back in Colorado, but a frequent visitor to the NMMR. It's hard to leave the Land of Enchantment. Glad you took a browse through the NMMR. You should try to make it out for DiTR in August. [moto]

Hey Mav and Bonfy! Caught seeping, so that's what you call it [cheeky]
Mods are done, full 2-1 Termi and cams, performance seat. No mas.
Really like the 695, but love the Hyper. I spent 10 years on a Suzuki DR650 (first 3 in Alb) so the position rocks for me.
BTW that DR650 found more places to ride off-road there than I can remember: arroyos, trails around the airport, and especially west past nine mile and lost horizon. Miss that place and the people a lot. Thanks for the invite in August. DiTR, tell me more por favor. Hey that rhymes ;D
By the way, next time you are in ABQ, head over to PJ's and look at the one-off HM1100 they put together, if they still have it (which I think they will). Some nifty stuff on it. [moto]

Naaaa, I think we need to get he a GPS connected to those bloooddddyyyy Head Phones of hers... Shiiiiisssssssss... She cant hear snap... We will have to lean to sign to her just to communicate..

I guess most of you ducs r in the Alb. area (not forgetting bonfy now up in Colo.) I mean where else can u get one and be anywhere near service.
Stroke of luck landed me in Burleson where the DR650 was then stolen. Advanced Motorsports is 10 mins away, so now the ducs sit in the living room (no more outside parking for mine). [evil]

Wow! When I was watching the slideshow, those beautiful mountains reminded me of Colorado up by Maroon Bells and Aspen. I loved those ancient churches. I would like to try to paint the old stone one (on a canvas, of course). I thought I saw Kawboy in one shot, then realized it was just the guy's riding suit that was similar. Makes me anxious to get out there. I can't wait.
It truely is beautiful anywhere in the alpine region. My friend Remy is in the business of organizing bike tours
througout the year.. so if you need any advice about where to go or where to rent motorcycles he would
be your go to guy. I haven't done this myself since 1975 on a Laverda...what a blast [moto]

Thanks Kingbaby!
Sorry we missed you on the freeway, I think it was my sons maiden voyage through the I25/I40 interchange and on a 250 Interceptor at that?!
Thankfully the traffic was real light as that bike would be hard pressed to pass a semi barreling down the freeway. I was surprised though he was right behind me the whole time. I guess that 250 is almost as fast as the 400. [coffee]

It was great to ride past the city limits today.
It started with some of the crew meeting at HP's lair. Then meeting Dusty & I at Java Joes for some breakfast (we live a block away) best in town.
Then we headed west to Acoma Pueblo (I-40W, 50mls to the McCarty's exit then follow the signs south).
Why no pics of the Pueblo? SSHHHHH no cameras allowed without a permit
Not that someone else doesn't have some great pics POST UP
The shot of desertduc pointing at the tracks was they were moving up and down at least a half a foot in a 15ft section.

I served with a guy who was from Acome. Kept telling me it was a nice ride. Damn.
Yes, but the wind was hell. You ever ride your bike in a constant 20 degree lean just to keep the bike going in one direction?
Not this bike, but there was one Halloween about 15 years or so ago...I was riding South on Louisiana heading to the Gibson gate to get back on base and I was leaned waaaaay over to the left just to stay up. If that wind would have stopped suddenly, I would have been flat on the pavement.
Strange how you remember the really bad ones, huh?

BIKE RECOVERY 101
Got my bike recovered from the desert today. After studying Google Earth pictures last night I was able to figure out how to get to it, which sandwash to go up.
Heading out Northern Blvd
(http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm203/feckert/Bike%20recovery/Downintothevalley2.jpg)
Heading down into the Rio Puerco Valley
(http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm203/feckert/Bike%20recovery/Upthesandwash2.jpg)
Up the sand wash. At some places just wide enough to get the truck through. Here is one of the few straight areas.
Found the bike unmolested; not shot up; right where I left it. I was able to get the truck to within 150 yards of where the bike was.
Bike recovered and ready to head out.
I had to climb these cliffs on my hike out. At least 3 or 4 hundred feet high.
Back home again. Upon looking at the bike, the countershaft sprocket bearing is destroyed. Hopefully nothing internal is destroyed also. I'll have to yank the engine and split the cases.
Nice job Kawboy and futhermore thanks for the pics [thumbsup]
Let me know if I can be of any assistance getting it running again.
Okay, I kind of believe you now, even though 3 or 4 hundred feet seems like a slight exaggeration. [laugh] When I saw that sand wash, I had a flashback of one time at Elephant Butte when I got totally stuck in a Sentra. I dug sand for hours before a park ranger saw a sign I had hiked up to the road to post for assistance. She actually pulled me out even though it was not their usual custom. I think she felt sorry for me when she saw how much sand I had dug and how little progress I made. I was filthy. It was a valuable lesson in off-roading on the north side of the Butte in a sedan. :-\ I am glad you didn't get stuck. Glad you have your baby back in your garage.
Ahem.....this is for both Bonfy and Kawboy:

You "KIND OF BELIEVE" me. Even with pictures! >:( "3 or 4 hundred feet seems like a slight exaggeration" !! You like hiking. Guess what you're going to climb when you get in the area again. [evil] [laugh] Well, maybe the 400 is a little high, but 300 is not.
Now about your off roading attempt in a NIssan Sentra . . . WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!! [laugh] Well, we all have "OH SH_ _" stories to tell and we'll probably have more in the future, too. You're not living until you push the limit a little bit.
I know how to settle this:
You two need to square off in Thunderdome (dramatic music now pays).
[laugh] [clap]
Yeah! Bring it, Kawboy!!!
Okay, I totally believe you, you climbed straight up an 800 foot cliff in cardboard riding boots, then fenceposted for thirteen hours to the main road, whereupon you hitched a ride out. My story pales in comparison! [bow_down] My dilemma was self-induced, but in a pitiful attempt at self-defense, let me say that my Landcruiser was inoperable at the time, due to a thrown rod. So there I was down at the lake, in a Sentra, on what had been a road at one point, but gradually merged into more and more sand. I couldn't turn around and when I attempted to blast through it, the eight inch clearance of the Sentra didn't give me much room before I was sunk in deep. Stupid girl.... I think I was shoveling with a piece of cardboard and my gloved hands. Using towels for rugs for traction. Pathetic. I am sure the ranger was impressed at my ingenuity. :-[

1957, 1958 & 1959 All Rolled Into One!
This little Chevy is just too cool!
This car was built by N2A motors (No Two Alike). Cost $40,000 over cost of new
Corvette C6 (MSRP $44,000). Unbelievable! The company is planning a production
run of about 100 vehicles. It sits on a Corvette C6 chassis, front styled like a 57 Chevy,
side like a 58, rear like a 59. Hence the designation '789'. Scroll down and drool !

I took a picture of the Sentra buried with the kayak on the roof but this happened back way back before digital cameras were around so I can't post a picture. BTW, no one helped because I was in tall grass up in a remote area trying to find a good campsite. Before you nag me about a cell phone, I wouldn't have had any bars there anyway.

Will have a full roll cage and be an absolute terror on the streets and track when all is said and done. Soo yeah. The bike's been collecting Dust.. Horrible of me .. I got passed up today on Angeles Crest highway by a pair of ST4's...there were quite a few rocks..in fact I hit one at 55 on a curve with the front tire, i thought i was headed for a blow out...but i stopped to inspect it and was ok but shaken...thats when the ST4s passed...next thing I knew i had a Mustang breathing down my beast with the two backsides but i passed a car and left him until the end when he finally passed me because the road was like cobblestones and I slowed down to nothing...all in all it was great to do twisties for a solid hour without stopping maybe more...unfortunately no photos and it is supposed to rain the rest of the week
OK being out of NM is kind getting boring...except Italian Bike Night last night was great. Fun was had by all. Alot of amazing bikes! [thumbsup]

Now THAT looked like fun! Beautiful bikes and people. Good times!
I see Captain Morgan and dusty's bike! What is the gray ducati thing on the 1098?
Yeah! I wondered if Dusty had put in an appearance, as well, till I saw the cans. And that guy in the first picture looks like the guy you brought to Two Fool's not too long ago, DDGM.
No friggin' way! OMFG It's Tom Selleck!!!!!
Wait a minute...I thought he lived in Hawai'i. I've seen his house.......
I also would like to know what the gray object is. It looks like an official Ducati Heating Pad for Superbike riders.......
Oh I am so busted! Kingbaby thought I was in Dallas with his mom...opps was that out loud? [roll] [evil]
Great pics HP! Do they always have such a big turnout? [thumbsup]

Dusty & I met Karen & Howie for lunch today at Geckos and came across two very strange things.
At what speed can you go before you get a ticket ???

Squirrel underware. Sold on a carboard squirrel (no shit). We figured at some point one of those guys with the rubber 'hawk, or a helmet hooked to the side of his bike that costs more than his bike does, will deserve a token of our appreciation. Lets call it a trophy if you will.

Good timing JJ, I was fortunate enough to ride with you before heading out.
Was good to meet up with all of you ... see you soon.
It was a great day with great friends.
JJ's bike is, well, AMAZING. Not to mention the helmet & boots. It sucks that people feel like they "deserve" to walk into someones home & take their things. May they die a miserable death. Sorry, just how I feel. But in this case, you came out on top [thumbsup] Next time we hunt them down.
Dusty & I met HP & Gabe at Farina for dinner last night. Weather on the patio was perfect. HP, being HP, damn near bought a new moto for Gabe parked by us on the street . Talk about no bike is safe [laugh]
Sorry we missed the Fudge Run. PICTURES ASAP !!!

Hey guys whats up its Godec. I had to change my screen name....Stupid technology. Oh well. So here are some shots that I got of Keith's bikes. FYI I will do shoots for anyone that want really hi quality photos of there bikes...or cars. Depending on the shoot locations and amount of work the price will vary, but I am thinking $50 for the photos on a disc. They will be able to be developed by pretty much anyone in town. Just send me a PM if you are interested. Here they are.

What camera/lens is that? Great stuff
Kingbaby, what wax are you using? Impressive shine [thumbsup]
Sex Wax. "It's not just for surfboards anymore"
For real, thats called great camera, and great eye.
What I use: PJ1 super cleaner. Never water (unless I get caught in it).
Clay bar.
FW1 spray wax . Also doubles as bug remover & plastic cleaner AKA Plexus. www.fastwax.com (//http://)
Fantastic work, Godec! All the bikes looked spectacular and you captured their beauty. [thumbsup]

What taillight are you running on your HD? I need that on my bike
It's a 30's Ford tail light on a turbo Honda I did for a charity build-off a few years ago.
Only two in the state and here sits one still behind glass..

There was a small car show downtown yesterday. There were some really cool cars. Keith and I went and checked them out and I took these pics. There weren't arranged very well so I wasn't able to get many good picks of the whole car so they are a little bit more abstract I guess. Let me know what you guys think...

I found this on a Rival Forum (rival may not be the right word) Either way.. its a pretty sweet trackday Video from Laguna Seca... Its fun to watch and it made me realize that my MotoGP 07 Game on PS2 is pretty dang accurate looking!

You have to go to you tube do a search for Laguna 11-11 its the first one, and its great!
Thanks guys! That was fun. I like the fact that you can see his hands. He makes those other guys look slow (and I know they aren't) and his style looks very smooth. It also looks like he was using the same camera we have (GoPro Hero) with the little warble in there.

Funny I don't remember hell breaking loose at all, weird, something a person would probably remember. One thing I do remember is that as soon as we got to the bikes and started adjusting them to look good you were on your bike with your helmet on going "I gotta leave...I have stuff to do" blah blah blah. AKA... go smoke a bowl. And about the tripod have you ever ridden a motorcycle with a tripod? Less than safe and that is why I didn't have it. If I had it with me it would have been super easy to get a great shot without blur. Also don't forget that I am not claiming to be a pro I will admit that I am still very much an amature, but I am trying to learn and that is why I wasn't using the night setting. Its all about trying new things and trying to get better. Give me a break man. Funny nobody else had any criticism about the time of the results. Thanks to everyone else for putting up with an amature that's just trying to learn...

I know...actually the food was great at that italian place but the server was kinda slow and I really did have alot of work to do that had to get out in the morning so I had to go. I did want to hang out but I hung out at the restaurant.
Anyway I was responding to Keith who said "funny i must have been a blur" because he couldnt see me. and that started me thinking about all the COOL stuff you can do with night time photography with solids and blurs which I probably could have conveyed in a much more constructive way, an idea for a picture, rather than telling you to "get a tripod". Actually I carry one all the time in that Puma Ducati bag I have....just for a moment like that.

Not that you know. [evil]
Pay no attention to the guy sitting straight up in the saddle passing you on the outside....he's only a figment of your imagination. [moto] Buhwahahahahahahaaaaaaa
Actually, I get out of the saddle pretty heavily if I'm riding hard, I just don't often ride hard on the street......or was that an observational or vocabulary related question? If it was a saddle related question, I am generally a "Hailwood" adherent. (for those who don't know, Mike "the Bike" Hailwood always sat straight up in the saddle, never sliding from side to side on the seat).
Another 2 cents.........
So Sunday i rode with Karl to the crest but then parted ways and went on to Chimayo. On the way I filmed part of the road to Madrid because I want to sell the KZ and wanted to show some footage of it running. I rigged up a may to mount the camera to my jacket. I think it came out pretty good? ...Except for the wind noise

Pretty cool HP. Where'd you get the cam and how much did it cost? I've been thinking about one of those.

I used my Nikon coolpix with a table top tripod zipped into my jacket below my head. Then I had the tripod handle faced sideways so it helped stabilize it by being next to my chest. I went 100 and as you can see there was little camera movement. I need to figure out something for the wind as that sound is obnoxious.
I hope this is postable.. I found it floating around on a Subaru forum and thought the [bacon] aspect of it made it appropriate to post here..
Now.. Where can I find a pair of these?

Bacon beer: it’s what’s for breakfast! I had this beer in a little town called Bamberg. It’s truly amazing stuff (at any time of the day)
Well today started out with Ducmouse, Duck-Stew, gratefulduc and Fruityscootie leaving 409 Jefferson at 830 and arriving at coffee at dawn shortly thereafter

Then Fruity Scootie and i head out for the high road to Taos. Great ride! Alot of traffic and at least three different weather systems but home safe and a great day. In fact we picked up Zaster on the way home. great riding with you Karl today, sorry it wasnt the high road for us on the way back. I think we would just be getting home now!

Great to see you two made it safely! [thumbsup]
Thanks for the updates yesterday, Lorenzo. Definetly made my boring ass day feel like I went on an adventure. I hope the weather is good for you fellas today.
Nice Honda [Head shaking]
So yesterday...which already seems like an eternity ago, Fruity Scootie and I rode from Ouray to Gateway. Almost a year to the day I am repeating a DIR'09 ride only with just two bikes....well this road is waaaaaaaayyyyyy better than I remember it

Perhaps if the RED mufflers were visible... ;)
its rosemary and matt in the pic [moto]
Sorry should have realized seeing red rims!
I rode the AZ 191 on the way back from Phoenix last weekend. Didn't get to take a whole lot of pictures, since I forgot my camera and only had my phone with limited juice left.

This one is my favorite, just one of the really nice bends in that road behind my bike. ;D
(http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c146/staltos/AZ1.jpg)
Really beautiful terrain.
All these pictures were taken before I got too far north and ran into the forest fires that have been going on, so as you can see, the skies were clear at this point. Really fun road, just wish I was better prepared for how intense it was.
Nice! Maybe we can do a group ride down there if there's anything left after they put the fires out.
That would have made things a lot more fun if just one other person was with me. Knowing that I was completely on my own if I wiped out kinda bugged me the entire ride. And it wasn't like there was a lot of people on the road either. I didn't pass a single person the entire 121 miles between Clifton and Springerville, and only saw like five vehicles going the other way.
now that sounds like a place the peeps would want to terrorize [laugh]

Hey I think I saw you today out on the west side.. Now I'm just trying to remember where I was when I saw you go by.. Either across golf course at 6:15ish, or across coors bypass around 1:45ish.. Yes my day has been that blurred together. I just remember seeing a black monster go by with shiny pipes.. I need a nap. ???
Well, I was at both those areas at around those times, so maybe you saw me twice. :o
A couple pictures I took. Nothing much.
