Title: Sewing help - added a pant attachment zipper to textile jacket
Post by: Slide Panda on October 27, 2008, 10:39:34 AM
Just got some wet/cold togs and have come to learn that the product description's a little out of date.  The Jacket was supposed to have a zipper for connecting it to pants installed already.  But at some point this lil feature was phased out.  Than pants did come with a section of zipper that one would sew into a jacket - but I'm not so facile with the needle and thread.

Also - the jacket side zipper half was originally mounted to a bit of stretch material so the suit could give a bit when you bent - an important feature to me.  I'd love to be able to cook up something like that

So anyone got experience, advice.. anything to help out with this?

BTW - this is a textile jacket - with a gor-tex like layer as part so I *think* Id be tryign to attach this set up to the inner most lining.

I've had a lot of zippers sewn and protector pockets added to jackets.  A regular tailor can handle anything but leather.  For leather sewing, I go to a cobbler.
