Title: Shop's reaction to lu's bike problem.
Post by: El Matador on October 28, 2008, 04:00:32 PM
Soooo, we took the the bike straight from the road to the shop on monday. The owner of the shop was very helpful and apologetic. He took the bike in and promised to get us on the road as quickly as possible.

I get a call from him today. It goes something like this:

- "Hello, this is Andy at metric. I'm calling to let you know that the bike should be ready tomorrow. We are overnighting all the parts from Italy and you can pick the bike up in the afternoon.

The axle is straight and true, but we went ahead and ordered a new one, as well as a new DID chain and aftermarket lightweight sprockets. Do you want the original gearing or to go down 1 tooth in the front?

We also are putting in new pads and rotors.

Also, the mechanic that did the work on her bike was fired, and I'm personally doing all the work myself this time.

Thank you for your understanding, goodbye"

Good news on the way he handled it.  [thumbsup]

Hmm, BTW, did you all mention the word "attorney" by chance?

nope. This was all him, we didn't have to push for anything.

Of course he knows that if we decide to take this to court we will end up owning his shop.

La Milagra de DesmoLu !  Her skill  ( i was behind her when she started to wobble & she IMMEDIATELY pulled off ), and some luck ( or whatever you or I are into cosmicly ) saved probably me & or another rider 'cause we were together to make lights.   [clap]

Thanks DLu &  [bow_down] Jesus! Seriously - That's all I'm sayin' !

>:(  That shop should make it right +infinity!  [thumbsup]

I didn't start any shit right away because Andy is a good guy and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Of course, I think my tone explicitly implied that Metric Cycles is my pregnant dog for life seeing as how I am not suing and all.

On a pleasant note, I'd been meaning to order that 14 tooth sprocket for a while now - still, *not* a good price to pay for free mod  :'(

We're all just glad you're OK Lu and you were able to pull over before it became a really bad situation.

The dealer in this case seems to not only be a standup guy but a smart one too.

Glad to know Desmolu is safe and unhurt.

i was definitely busting some ass all weekend...that's for sure.

glad to hear the shop is going to take care of you; sounds like the guy was pretty pissed that something like that happened to a bike worked on in his shop, which is good.
