Title: ticketsssss
Post by: mikenyc on October 30, 2008, 07:05:07 AM
Got smacked with 2 tickets recently. Speeding 68 in a 40 (cmon now 68...i mean really) and passing in single line

Any advice on how to get these dismissed - I don’t want to get points on my license.

tks

Try Casey.  Phone consult will be free.

Yo Mike, check with that lawyer, at least for the speeding ticket. I was going 55 when you passed me so technically we both should have gotten hit. I don't think radar was involved...

A friend and I got nabbed in the same place. Harriman is crawling with five-oh. Not a good place to be speeding. Becareful up there.

Howie also pointed me toward Casey and he's on the job. He worked miracles with another riding buddy I have so I think it's worth the money if your trying to get a reduction  or avoid points all together.

+1, Harriman in general is a tourist area and LEO are strict on speeders.  There are hikers, out-of-towners and locals walking/driving about all year round, especially now with the fall foliage so they want to make sure it's a safe road environment.

Since the passing ticket is in a different court and is a relatively minor offense you may want local less expensive representation, or you may want to represent yourself.  Do speak to Casey first.  He will be honest with you.  If you want a local, less expensive, but good legal eagle PM Pakhan.

21 - 30 MPH over = 6 points.

ouch.

Hopefully your license is clean to begin with.

+1 get representation for the speed at least.

When it comes to points, always fight, even if you are wrong.

Well, I called my insurance agent to see what the impact of the speeding ticket would be...

turns out - since I have a clean record, there is NO impact! No increase in cost...nada

sweet!

oddly enough, they said had it been a car, there would have been an increase in premium.

really  [evil]  ;D

who is your insurer? They still count as points though right? And does it still affect your car's premium?
