Title: Old Monk pumpkin carving tonight?
Post by: bryant8 on October 30, 2008, 08:32:20 AM
From the Old Monk email list

THE OLD MONK

Our annual pumpkin carving to raise money for a local school will be from  October 23rd  until Halloween night. For $10, you get a pumpkin, a carving kit, and a free pint of Guinness, Smithwicks, Harp, Black and Tan or Half and Half. The Old Monk matches your $10. Last year we raised almost $800, which was used towards playground equipment at  Hope Medrano School. As of today, Wednesday, we have raised $780, thank you.

Anybody interested in meeting up?

people missed out on some serious good times at the monk (it turns out $60 can go pretty fast)

Seriously?  no comments on our pumpkin?  Rich and I spent HOURS emptying that thing of it's guts, and Bryant's steady hand ( clearly he arrived late ) was critical in carving out the eyes, while my drunken blade opened the slivered, spewing mouth...

this was a labor of love, my friends, I'm shocked at your silence.  Unless it's an awed silence...  a studious reverent silence in which you admire the handiwork and contemplate the roll of art and dedication in your own lives...  is that what it is?
