When I bought my 696 the dealer also included the black cover in case I wanted to remove the windscreen. Well I removed the windscreen this afternoon and noticed that I didn't have the bolts to attach it to the bottom of the instrument panel. Was the dealer supposed to supply the bolts?
Absolutely. If your dealer isn't located too far away I would suggest you go back and get yours.(you did PAY for them when you bought the bike.)
Sounds good. I'll swing by tomorrow morning. 8)
IIRC it just re-uses bracket bolts that were previously obscured by the fairing. All my dealer gave me was the instrument panel cover. But there were still a few nuts & bolts that were permanently removed--saved something like 7.25 ounces all together.
same thing happened to me! I'm an hour and a half away from the nearest dealer, so I went to the hardware store and they had black bolts that worked perfectly. [thumbsup]
Are you guys serious? I just counted. The number of bolts on my bike went down by TEN when I removed the bikini fairing (well, fourteen counting the wee ones bolting the screen to the fairing). Logically, a unique pair of black ones returned to the bike to bolt the cover on (I'm sure they were intended for that purpose). So did the gnomes just happen to steal your bolts and put them on my bike? ???
Ugh!! Going to the dealer was a waste of time. They basically had no clue so I left. I got everything from having to order them straight from Ducati to "what screws are you talking about?"
Does anyone know the size for the screws?? I'll just go to Home Depot or Lowes.

Mine were not supplied either, I think they are 3.5 mm, I could not find any at home depot but I had a couple in my tool box that I used. I'm not sure if there is an imperial size that will fit.
