Does anyone know if there's a high-performance automotive store in the RTP area? I did a google search, but came up empty.
Thanks,
Dave
What are you looking for? There're a few in North Raleigh.
http://www.PhantasmUSA.com/ (http://www.phantasmusa.com/) comes to mind.

That looks promising...I'll call them tomorrow.
I'm looking for braided stainless hose, clamps, fittings, -AN wrenches, etc.

You know. The usual: Nitrous, a wing, some trick gauges and stickers for the truck.

Yeah, Advance, Pep Boys, AutoZone...they don't carry much that I'm looking for in this case. Phantasm carries Earl's plumbing items...at least they list Earl's stuff.

I didn't figure those shitty places would have what you needed. I was just being a smart ass, as usual.
Give these guys a call.

Motorheads from birth. If they don't sell the stuff, I guarantee you they can tell you where to get it.

Thanks John. I'll give 'em a call.
I've also been told of a place called "Steve Ashworth's Performance" on Main St. in Fuquay-Varina. Come to think of it, I was there once. [roll]

There was a thread on a Corvette forum a while back about these guys. A lady had brought her 'vette to them to get some work done and one of the employees used it to drive his kid to school, wrecking it in the process. No insurance, and they were allegedly dicking her over on the replacement.

Not that any of that is relevant, I just happened to remember the story from when a friend sent me the link.

Wow, what a story!!!! :o
Try this place: Tires -N- Parts 416 S Dawson St., Raleigh, http://www.tires-n-parts.com/
I've been there a couple of times and their people seem to know performance stuff. Yah, their web site looks a little funcky but they are hot rod oriented.

I don't have time to read through that right now to see what all's said, but the way I remember it was that one of the guys that worked for them took the Vette home for the weekend and was out driving the shit out of it when he wrecked it.
Then the guy that owns CAM told the customer that the guy had taken the car home without permission. When the cops talked to the guy that borrowed the car he said "bullshit, my boss told me I could take it home."
Then a royal shitstorm ensued.
Hey, I never said to leave your bike with them Shultz, just to call them about the parts. [laugh] [laugh]

I had my windows tinted at Phantasm when I lived in Raleigh (Guy did a shit job). That place is ghetto is hell. I'd look there if you wanted Street Glow, NOS, or billet aluminum air fresheners.

I've heard that as well, but it was the only one I knew of at the time.

The guys I linked to are the real deal.
They're the guys to see about hot-rodding around here. Especially now that I'm sure they've remedied the issue of employees borrowing customer cars.
Check out this C5 Vette that they built. Make sure not to try to race it if you see it around town. [laugh]
