i was at AMS Dallas yesterday to pick up an $8 bolt (actually not too bad of a deal) and was talking with Derek for a minute. he said i may want to mention to people that AMS will probably be getting a few 1198 "R" limited bayliss edition bikes, and he said they could most likely get bayliss to autograph them as well. sounded like a pretty small run....100 or so.
anyway, just passing along the info

I don't know how many Troy will sign,
but the production run I believe will be 500 bikes.
Not sure how many of those will make it to the U.S...
THANKS for the info Rich -one of those would look nice next to your Monster! [thumbsup]
Do we have a price on these yet?

didn't ask...Derek may have an idea on pricing, though; give him a ring at the dallas shop. sounded like he wanted to pick one up himself...but he said he thought it might be a bit too crazy, as it too much bike for him. yeah....right.

yeah he wasn't for sure on how many were being produced exactly...you might be right.
No offense to any of you that may buy a signed 1198R, but would you ride a signed version or just stick it on display? If it goes down, you may not be able to get it signed again! [thumbsup]

First born male child for the signed one.
They are taking deposits now, but do not know the price. Scott at AMS said that he should have the info for me tomorrow.
I have wasted enough board space and your time on this matter. I would still rather have a 996 Bayliss.
I always liked the Bostrom replica ;D

I should be in a better financial position when these arrive, and would really like to pick up an R. If it isn't much more, then I might as well get the LE model. I would love a 996 Bayliss. I will evenually buy a 916 due to its historical significance. Though I much prefer this Tamburini... [evil]

Nice scooter for sure!
QuoteThe Bayliss 1098R is expected to cost 32,000 euro
i would think just a bit more than 40k

I'm sure they will take deposits for the 2012 2498 SuperDuperbike as well, smart business ;D I do like the fact that you can part with your money before you even know what it will cost. That's instant delayed gratification. I had a hard time sleeping between the time I deposited on a 1098 in December 06 and the delivery in March.
Coincidentally, it was at the first AMS fashion show - so bring a small amount of spending cash and leave all other payment methods at home. Do not fall for the Ducati bikinis (ahh, remember Lucy?) and the logic of "well if I sell this, live under a bridge for 2 years and delay my retirement 10 years, I can do it."
Just kidding, check your beacon score before you go, it was worth it [thumbsup]

If I had 45K to drop on the bike, I'd ride the piss out of it. Fu*k it, I'm gonna atleast ride it till the tank fails and ruins my living room floor.
while talking with derek....i may have heard a vicious rumor of someone in the group putting down a deposit on an S....

Bonnie and I were there today too..... The Monster is there and the Paul Smart is at AMS..... garage is looking a little depressing
Hmm I wonder if I can get Jeff Nash to sign my 848 ;D [laugh] ... Hell I think it would be cool if faswin signed it ;D
Sure, I can sign your bike. Whose name would like me to sign? Bayliss, Rossi, McCain, Jester? [laugh] How about all of them. [thumbsup] Have Sharpie, will sign.

Ok, who are you? Do you mean us harm? Do you come in peace? Are you in disguise? Halloween is over now.
