I am about to put in a new clutch throwout bearing, do I need to lube it before pressing onto the pressure plate?
No its a sealed 'lifetime' lubricated bearing

whos lifetime? ;D
Funny though, after I put the new throwout bearing into mine I went for a 2 mile run and there was already some grease flinging out of the bearing. [roll]
While you're mucking about, you can grease the push rod ends if you're intent on greasing up something.

this is common with sealed bearings, they are overfilled when new and will quickly push the excess out pass the seals when put into service. now yours has the 'perfect' amount of grease in it.
