at $14,995 for the standard StreetFighter,, i'll put a down payment for it but it'll only be available in Summer which is the storage season of the bikes here in Kuwait [bang] ```````
You know.
People use to look at my Bike and say... Man that has to be exspensive.
I was like... well not really.
But I keep looking at the future Ducati Prices and now I say... Man that IS exspensive :-\
those prices seem to be a bit lower than what was rumored......
in wonder if ducati lowered their original msrp?
As I said...we have to pay the same amount in Euro..
And here in lovely Denmark you have to pay additional 120% of the price as tax....upfront
The Streetfighter here is 14.000 EU = 20.000 $ plus the 24.000 tax = 44.000 $
And now talk to me about the recession again [drink]

Whoa! You have to be loaded or really passionate about your ducatis over there [thumbsup] Good luck!

Holy crap! Does that tax apply to all new vehicles there, or does it depend on where they're from?
Those prices don't make any sense to me....
Denmark's neighbour Norway: SAME STORY, although our taxes are a little bit lower depending on hp and emissions. Vehicles have been "easy" to tax as a lot of people "must" have them and it's easy to argue the negative effect they have on the environment. Gas is also taxed - $7.50/gallon.
That being said, average yearly income is around $62.000.

Put yourself in government shoes and do the math [thumbsup]
And I was going to complain about the prices in Australia, Id say you would be looking a about double the list price you have shown in these parts.
Don
By Comparison, Halfway between the Streetfighter and the Streetfighter S, is what I paid for a S2R 800 here in Australia.
So I would suggest our Americans friends don't complain to loud, your still getting the best deal of just about every other country :)
Hell yeah..its the overall prices to beginn with
But the tax on bikes is 120% and ..here it comes...its 180% on cars..
So a nice Audi A4 wich goes for 40.000 Eu in Germany is around 100.000 Eu here.
But no...you cant just go there and buy it..
Its not buying the thing, its getting the plates.
If you bring in a car and dont get Danish plates within 6 weeks you will get called in and they estimate the value
Furthermore you can get charged with the same amount when trying to cheat by having it here on german plates.
Making a long story short, I paid 20.000 for my 695.
Termis are really cheap in realtion to that.

No, I mean the structure doesn't make sense from one model to the other....

how so? I was just thinking it looked pretty rational to me. you go first ;D
We really need to keep people thinking Duc's are really expensive. You can get a GSXR 600 or R6 for just about a grand more.
Its getting to when someone says that cost a lot huh you really have to say yup!
No matter what a Duc is worth so much more, gotta love em
i'm not sure what the point is in getting a streetfighter S when you can get the 1198 for less.

better suspension,
traction control, different ergos (not a price issue but a reason to buy anyway). top naked versus middle SBK.
If you think of the streetfighter S as a naked version of last year's 1098S it's priced nicely.
Below are 2006 prices.
A 1198 is cheaper in today's dollars not to speak of 2006 dollars with inflation and the current exchange rate thrown in.
S2R1K $ 9,995.00 Red-White Stripe / Black - White Stripe / Silver - Black Stripe
S4R 13,495.00 Red-Black Stripe
S4RS $ 14,495.00 Red-White Stripe / Pearl White, Red Stripe, Red Frame, Black Wheels / Black - Silver Stripe.
999Bip $ 17,995.00 Red or Black
999S Mono $23,995.00 Red or Black
Prices are still better here than anywhere else. [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
LA
Sure, taxes are outrageous in Denmark, but then you have to think, minimum wage is equivalent to about $20 an hour. A school teacher makes $100,000 a year. It all works itself out....
since they're titled almost the same and both on the front page I hope nobody minds if I merge the threads.
wasn't the list price on a 620 Dark like $6,495 or so?
the good old days....
