I took some parts off my 696 to get powder coated black yesterday. Seeing as how I purchased the CF Termi kit last week, I figured this down time would be perfect to install it. So I dropped off the parts to get powder coated, then went home and switched out the ECU, air filter and cans. The headlight was off the bike so I couldn't take it out for a ride last night when I finished. This morning the powder coat place called and they already finished my parts. So I rushed over there picked them up then went home and put it all back together. I went riding around town for a while.
I've had my bike for 2 1/2 months and ridden 2700 miles with the stock exhaust. My only semi-complaint before was that it seemed slightly slow off the line, but it's not like I needed it to be any faster. After all, it is my first motorcycle, and I was thrilled with it. After the Termi kit, it almost seems like a different bike now. I'm really loving it now. Not only does it sound better, it feels better. Looking back on the stock setup, I would now say it felt a slight bit sluggish, like there was a little delay before it kicked in when I twisted the throttle. Now it seems like it just goes the instant I twist the throttle. It also feels better off the line. So that is my first impression.
Or maybe it is just performing better because it now has more black on it? [thumbsup]

Could be. Depends on what you had powder coated. Rearset?
Sounds nice, Pics?
Second impression:
It definitely sounds faster, which may affect my perception of how fast it feels. I still believe it is better, maybe not as good as my first impression though. Either way I'm happy I got them, and love it.

I only did the headlight frame and the heat shields. I was going to get the rearsets done, but there are a few issues.
1) don't know how many Nm's to torque the "special screws" to when I reassemble or if I should just tighten as much as I can.
2) not sure if there is anything super tricky that would mess something up, like clutch or brake settings
3) wanted to make sure I had it back together so I can ride this weekend
I'm thinking about digging in Monday or Tuesday. I'll see if I can post some pics later.
No, I felt the same thing with the 695. Termis make the beast with two backsing rock... hard! [thumbsup]
