I recently bought a warmnsafe jacket liner, gloves and dual portable heat-troller. I went for ride yesterday in the low 40's and I was toasty warm. It was great.
I have a Monster 620. How do I know if the heated gear is pulling too much power for the bike's electrical system?
I installed the battery harness so the wire comes up between the seat and the gas tank. And I put the heat-troller in my tank bag. This worked OK, but a couple of times the coax connections were pulled apart. And I wanted to adjust the knobs a lot, to get the temperature just right, and it was a bit of a hassle to keep pulling over to open the tank bag. Those of you with the same gear, where do you put the heat-troller? Is it better to connect it to your belt or something?
I have a Gerbings and I know what you mean about wanting to adjust the heat controller and where to put it.
Mine is long enough that I put the wires between my seat and the gas tank and put the Contoller between my legs however I can get it to stay within reach so that I can adjust the temperature.
I don't know that there is a totally right or wrong answer. Just however you can make it work for you. Dolph

I bought the 24" extentions for my Gerbings temp. controller and Velcroed it under the instrument cluster. To make it fit between the handle bar risers I flipped it upside down. The power lead pops out of the front left portion of the frame so it's easy to get to. It's really nice to be able to adjust the temp on the fly.

I have Gerbings and I put the temp controller in my jacket pocket, I've learned how to adjust the dial through the gear material.
I have my (single channel) controller in one of those cheesy (and mostly useless) nylon cell-phone cases that seem to come with every backpack in the world. I have the knob sticking out of where I guess the antenna for the cell phone was supposed to go. That whole assembly is attached to the carry-handle on my tank bag. The carry-handle is on the seat-side of the bag, and it works out really well. Also I can take it with me when I get off the bike without having to pull something additional off of my bike. I'll see if I can get a picture of it so I can show you what I mean.

I have the Firstgear dual troller velcroed so it the adjuster knobs just hang out the bottom left side of my jacket. Within easy reach and the excess wiring is safely out of sight.
These come in handy in a pinch. I stick one in my helmet with double side tape.
