No owner around. Bike was parked a few bikes away from my own and within 50 feet of the Ducati Hypermotard Rig/Trailer Demo Rides. :-X

Dunno. Electrical maybe?
Just got word it belongs to someone I've ridden with before. Nice guy too. Damn shame. :'(
Yeah, Vince said you two know the guy. We were talking to him out there as we were leaving. According to him, it's the rectifier. And according to the Lundsford Ducati guy who had walked up to chat with us, there's been a batch of similar incidents in other 1098's and also in the 696's.
The owner said that Ducati N.A. should be putting out a recall notice soon. I haven't been folowing the main board in awhile, so not sure whether that's true or not.
It was kinda ironic that the bike was parked so closed to the Ducati demo rig To Eximport's credit, the owner did say that they were going to open the shop and have a tow truck take it directly to there.
IMO they really didn't have a choice. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement for the brand [laugh]
Less than 6 months old with about 2600 miles on it. Man, I would not be happy.
Ouch! that's gotta suck... How were the test rides otherwise?
Geezus ....so I guess that guy must've gotten a "smokin'" deal on that 1098.....
My first reaction to that photo was "what A*Hole threw a cig there"?
Is this what could have happened when my VR went out? And there still is not a recall? That is rather uncool...
hloy crap!
couldn't have picked a better place to happen though
