So i took my 1098 for a nice ride today and low and behold there was coolant spewed all over my right fairing. When looking under the fairing it seemed to be leaking at one of the top mounts of the radiator. One of the welded mounts it looked like. It isnt a bad leak but enough for concern and i'm going to bring it into the dealer this weekend at the latest. Any help and info is appreciated.
Also my low beam went out and i checked the fuse its ok, as well as the bulb. When i disconnected the bulb from the wires you could see that it had melted at the plug. Any suggestions on what the HELL is going on? [bang] About 2 months ago my dash had fried and had to be replaced under warranty. Also 1 week into owning it my front right turn signal went out.........help.... :'(
Melted connectors are usually a sign of high resistance....meaning a loose connection.
You didn't put an aftermarket type high output bulb in by any chance did you?

Nope i haven't touched any of the electronics. I felt that was one system on the duc i should stay away from. I did hook in a heat troller but that was a connection straight to the battery terminals. Nothing else has ever been touched by me. Is it possible the dealer could not have put it back together properly? I already have noticed a fairing screw missing along with 90% of the fairing screw washers on the right side being nonexistent.
Are you the first owner?
I know the 848's had a radiator leak problem at the bracket but never heard of it on the 1098's

Yeah i'm the first owner.
I googled this radiator leak and got numerous threads on the 848 leaking. Anyone know if the radiators are the same parts on the two engines?

Possible the connection was less than ideal.
