I like the Michelin Pilot Road 2. I can get over 10000 miles out of a rear, and more out of the front. I'd stick with the tire sizes that came on your bike: probably a 160 rear and a 120 front?
My '95 m900 claims a 170/55 rear but I've run a 180/60 on it. Most of the time I just go to my tire place and say, "Do you have a Pilot Power for a '95 m900?" and take what they give me (usually the 180.)
This last time I switched to Pilot Road 2CT since I hear it's supposed to handle the wet better than the Power and I'm going to try to keep running my bike as my primary transportation throughout winter. I've noticed that with the narrower tire the bike feels like it leans more easily. At first the bike leaned so much easier than w/ the 180 that I felt like I was going to fall over. Now that I think about it I think it felt the same way the last time I switched from a 180 to a 170.
I'm not sure how front tire variance affects performance. I haven't changed it (size) from the stock size.
For various opinions on tire quality you can check out the tire ratings thre (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=2444.0)ad.
You size your tire by the wheel width and what you are looking to have the tire do. For most oem size is safest, going 1 size larger is usually safe as well. in the case of the 900 monster the bike came with a 5.5 inch rear tire . This wheel width is designed around a 180 but a 170 or a 190 will fit. racers run a 180 for best handling vs grip. The 170 will handle quicker but has less grip at full lean, 190 has more grip but slows handling.
on a 750 the rear wheel is a 4.5 inch so your best tire will be the 160 but you can fit a 170. The 170 slows handling and mushrooms the tire a bit but overall it works just fine.
thanks duc!! that works
