I scraped ice off my seat this morning when I went to let my bike warm up. 30 degrees. I decided long ago that if I was going to do this motorcycle thing, I was gonna do it right, but day's like today make that commitment into a sentence.
Well you better have some proper cold weather gear, without it 30 degrees can do some serious damage to your health.
At least it wasn't 10ºF... I had a hard time starting Molly this morning ~

damn 10, I'll just go about my business...
In Madrid we've had -4.5degrees C last week.. and it's snowed this week! Great riding weather!!! [laugh]
just a word of caution that my german motorcycle orientation class teacher told us... wear a kidney belt.
sounds wierd huh.
he said "cold anytime on the kidney area can lead to serious kidney infections. that even goes to riding in the summer. if you are wearing light clothing and ride in the summer wear a kidney belt to keep that area warm."
well don't know the medical facts or not, maybe someone here does.

My body armor has a kidney belt and I feel very comfortable with it having that area all sealed up. Somehow if feel a lot warmer. So no medical facts but my experience suggests something similar.

I've been wearing my forcefield back protector and it seems to be doing a good job.. it's pregnant dog getting older, until this year i haven't really noticed any pain or discomfort on my lower back on cold days. From now on I'll have to be careful I guess
